Trying to find chisel sharpening stone26 Jan 2006 20:28 GMT14
There's a very cheap Chinese made chisel sharpening stone 8" x 2" x 1" I've

faces on heads and blocks and flatting cam followers etc. I think it cost
only 1 or 2 quid when I bought it but I can't recall where ...
Qualters and Smith26 Jan 2006 20:28 GMT4
A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to be able to rescue a
Qualters and Smith machine hacksaw from the skip.   It is in very
restorable condition.
The plate on it tells me that 'Qualters and Smith Bros. Ltd.' resided in

Anybody know a nice friendly supplier of small quantities of steel wire
compression springs? I'm looking for a light spring, about 1/8" o.d., 1/2"
long and with a rate of about 3 lb/in.
Myford ML7 backgear jammed26 Jan 2006 10:22 GMT9
This is my first post - please be gentle.
I have purchased a Myford ML7 (s/n 20206) and a small number of
accessories. The lathe has seen a lot of work but is in reasonable
condition with the former owner having replaced the leadscrew and
Waldron punches26 Jan 2006 09:27 GMT15
Hi Gang. I am ready to make the leap and purchase a set of punch and die
sets for cutting out 1/48 and 1/32 instrument face decals. The only source I
have found for the Waldron sets is Great Model Webstore and they only have
them as a special order item. I assume this will take ...

Revell "Big Boy" Decals26 Jan 2006 05:24 GMT5
The decals as supplied with my Revell 1/87 Big Boy Locomotive are all over
scale, several will not even fit - especially the loco numbers on the front
boards.  Has anyone come across a second source of decals for this kit?
There is also an error in the instruction illustrations for ...

electric toothbrush as a sanding tool25 Jan 2006 23:37 GMT6
A few weeks ago I read an article on the net describing how to convert an
electric toothbrush into a "power sanding tool" for plastic modelling.
Try as I might, I can't find it anymore. I don't even remember if it was an
one of the plastic modelling newsgroups or on a particular ...

Oil for rust proofing small parts25 Jan 2006 09:52 GMT6
I have a half pint jar of what was probably fairly thin semi synthetic
engine oil (whatever was to hand at the time) which I dip small steel engine
parts in before storing them. However it runs off in a few weeks leaving
only the thinnest trace on the surface which damp can then get ...
Cormorants and Coromants and tips25 Jan 2006 08:44 GMT6
We are now the proud owners of a decent set of inserted tooth cutters, up to 8"
diameter, the latest one of which we bought today on Fleabay. (In case anyone
wonders why we bought such large diameter, we have some cylinder heads to rework
for a customer)
