Vacuum from a compressor?25 Jan 2006 08:25 GMT4
I just scored a compressor - it's a Bambi electric one with a 50L tank and
two pumps. The carpet in the back of my car confirms that it uses compressor
oil. :-(  Never mind, I'm sure the local scrappie will do me a deal for more
carpets...

I just finished a model of the Queen Mary 2.  It lookes kind of plain
tho without deck furniture like lounge chairs and tables and such.
So, are there any deck chairs and other deck furniture out there for
cruise ships in the 1/400 range?

Boring Head 60Int to 40Int?24 Jan 2006 17:07 GMT10
Picked up a very nice boring head for (almost) beer money today,
reason it is so cheap is the 60Int (might be 50, but looks big enough
for 60) fitting.
I seem to remember that a lot of makers of these devices made the
Airfix Football Stars figures24 Jan 2006 16:22 GMT4
I was wondering whether anyone has seen these kits and what is the
general opinion, especially the head and hands detail.
As I dabble in large scale figures, perhaps they'd be a good base to
start with.
London ME Exhibition questions24 Jan 2006 14:15 GMT14
The happy coincidence of a family gathering means I am thinking of going
to the London MEE at the Alexandra Palace this year.  I went to Sandown
park the other week and noticed that someone was selling very cheap
sealed lead-acid batteries.  I rather stupidly didn't buy one and
Stuart 10H & 501 Boiler Plant24 Jan 2006 07:22 GMT6
Hope this is an appropriate group to ask advice on the following: I
have just purchased a well built Stuart 10H and meths boiler 501steam
plant with a displacement lubricator. Running the engine reveals the
odd leak here and there which probably just requires some gentle
Aurora 1/54 S2F Tracker info24 Jan 2006 06:04 GMT15
Has anyone built (or re-built) one of these?
I just won one on EBay and I know it's gonna take
lots of work. Any suggestions on aquiring/scratchbuilding
a landing gear? How bad are the engines?
Ex MOD / AWE tools24 Jan 2006 01:20 GMT10
I've just bought a straight edge which is ex MOD.  On closer instpection (at
home) I noticed that it is labeled AWE, which I suspect means it used to
belong to the Atomic Weapons Extablishment.  I'm now a bit uncomfortable,
just in case theres the remotest change it could be ...

50/50 paint (Humbrol) and thinners, i havent a clue and was wondering
Lone Star Models web site23 Jan 2006 22:27 GMT7
Greetings all.
I have not been on this group for some time now. For some reason my PC would
not allow it. I tried it again last night out of boredom and voila! it
worked.
1/72nd He162 'Salamander' question.23 Jan 2006 17:54 GMT13
I've just screwed-up my Frog Salamander and I want another. OK, Frog
Salamanders are a bit thin on the ground, but I have seen them in a Revell
box (same Frog artwork and all). Now, Revell later released the He162 with
an underslung Mistal doo-dad. I've no idea if the Frog kit was ...
Ballistics Phone Call23 Jan 2006 12:21 GMT5
No1 son collects old bullets and shell casings, and as he is
perpetually hard up, we often get to buy things on ebay: 'while you're
online Dad, could you have a look at this....' sort of thing.
Anyway, a week or so back he saw a couple of 0.50" shells on ebay, so
