Movie Question WWI10 Mar 2006 00:05 GMT11
Been dabbling in WWI planes a bit. I have The Blue Max and love the
reproduction aircraft. Can anyone recommend other movies with reasonably
good aerial combat scenes from WWI? I'm hoping I don't have to go all the
way back to those early '30s flix. Maybe something with Spads or ...

problem with the feed gearbox, does anyone have experience od these or
have more detailed info  about the drive system?
It is NOT the shearpin that is intact, in fact we get no drive out of

WWII USN fighters vs Luftwaffe fighters comparisons?09 Mar 2006 22:46 GMT14
ISTR a site or book handicapping WWII USN fighters like the Corsair,
Hellcat, Wildcat, etc, against WWII Luftwaffe fighters like the FW 190
& Me 109, since they didn't actually meet each other in combat (or did
the RN do so?) I've googled & can't find anything. Anyone else recall
Which Mill?09 Mar 2006 20:26 GMT23
I am a novice wishing to purchase my first milling machine and would be grateful for any advice that could be given.
Budget is 500-1000, and I haven't the space for anything big. It wouldn't be required to perform any heavy work but I would like, if possible, to get something ...

mask metalizers.   Are there any ways that
you can?   On my Ridge Runner P-51, I have

Squadron Green putty09 Mar 2006 07:07 GMT9
Hi again folks.
I have some Squadron Green putty and I've used it before
on figure filling with good results.   The thing I don't like about
it is how it's like 'Bisquick' bisquit dough when you don't use
New movie Fly Boys09 Mar 2006 01:54 GMT3
Do a google search for the movie Fly Boys, currently being filmed.  This is
the story of the Lafayette Escadrille, and I have seen photos on the net of
the replica Nieuport 17's being used, they look quite realistic.  I believe
it will be released sometime this year.
Italeri's bad customer service ???09 Mar 2006 00:11 GMT9
Hi, we are a group of argentinian modellers. We all have in common that
all of us were dissapointed with the Italeri costumer service. We write
individually to Italeri from his web page, asking for some missing
parts and decals. In some cases the customer services led us to the

Quartering model loco wheels08 Mar 2006 09:26 GMT7
I am building a 5 inch gauge Simplex 0-6-0. The build book has nothing
on quartering the wheels so I have a few qustions.
I understand that one side is 90 degrees behind the other. Is there a
convention that the right or left side leads?
G H Thomas08 Mar 2006 08:51 GMT1
Unfortunately, I cannot open Mr Foreman's posting.
However, the appropriate article on tool holding fittings etc is
covered in Thomas's Model Engineers Workshop Manual. Mine is an
original from when Bill Bennett did the first edition. The information
SOLID WOOD SCALE MODEL AIRPLANE KITS08 Mar 2006 07:43 GMT3
I have started making "solid wood scale model airplane KITS" like they
were 60 years ago. Oviously this is a small operation with one aim: To
show modellers today that these models are very different than Plastic
Kits of today BUT that a modeller can DO both!!!!!!!, I am sure I ...
