Can general artists acrylics be used to paint plastic models13 Apr 2006 04:19 GMT7

I'd like to know if it's possible to achieve even average results

Sheet Metal Work - How would you do it?12 Apr 2006 18:07 GMT7
I'm making a seat-base for a motorcycle. Got a shaped bit of
fibreglass, but it needs a metal base to stick the foam and cover to,
which gets bolted to the fibreglass.
I seem to have a few spare old 'puters, so one them sacarificed it's

Can anyone tell me or direct to the following information:
On WWI aircraft presumably the rigging/flying wire was different from the
control wires.
The rigging/flying wire was always? sometimes? usually? aerofoil shaped?

Having thought I was succeeding with the pigmented casting I now have a
problem.
The item I am trying to replicate is a toy battery cover. This is quite
thin and black and not only do the casting sometimes seem to be not

Hasagawa's Ki-100 Koh kit # 09144 ( JT44) shows the color H 66 Sandy
Brown used several times including the interior. I know this is a Gunze

paint or does Model Master have this color in their line?
Machining a bearing housing12 Apr 2006 07:36 GMT4
I need to machine a bearing housing so that the bearing is a "push fit"
(it says in the instructions).  The bearing is 2.250 inch diameter.

Has anyone ever seen a diorama of Dachau or Auschwitz,

Or maybe even the slaughter of the German guards at Dachau?
TIP clear part recovery11 Apr 2006 19:28 GMT3
Tonight I was gluing my windscreens on my current project, and I'm one
of the hold-outs who still uses CA glue for clear parts. I had dipped
the clear parts in Future the day before yesterday, and it was well
cured. No danger of the CA fogging the clear bits as the Future ...
scales- history11 Apr 2006 14:51 GMT6
I am working on a column for club newsletter on olden times. In solid
(wood) era, things were all box stock.  First plastics I built were
Hawks (now kitted by Testors), and they were 1:48.  What were the early
Airfix?  How about some of the other early plastics?

After my previous posts regarding the scraping of the shears on m
Super 7 I have another question  .
The bed thickness seems fine but it's just the sides of the shears a
mentioned before that are worn(closer to headstock).
