eXcel expression for relating pulley size, distance between centres, v-belt length21 May 2006 16:06 GMT8
I've written an excel expression to determine belt length given pulley
diameters and distance between centres.  However it usually understated the
belt size by about 20mm+ for the range I'm using.  I did think I was
producing the inside diameter rather than the outside diameter,  ...

actualy started to a lesser or greater degree I find that I need to use
Day-glow paint.

Exhaust gasket material21 May 2006 12:24 GMT15
Putting the big generator back together now I've got my soundproofing
sorted, and find that the exhaust flange gaskets are not reusable
(originally probably asbestos I think) and am thus looking for a
source of suitable material. I've found an online supplier who will

Question re: Minicraft 1/48 Piper Super Cub20 May 2006 20:31 GMT5
Picked up this kit. Instructions include painting - but there is no
color code - only letters (A, I, N, etc.) Some I can guess, but not all.
Does anyone have the instructions with the color code included that they
can e-mail me?
Help with MIG spares, German speaker required!20 May 2006 19:26 GMT15
Looking for someone to help me out with a German website.
I've been looking for the correct feedroll for my Migmate 170 for aluminium
wire but SIP are worse than useless. Finally found that Decastar welders
look identical (probably built by the same Italian company) and several
Model Kit Reviews -- Observations and Comments20 May 2006 01:50 GMT16
Looking at some of the newsgroups and discussion groups elsewhere,
there seems to be a grave misunderstanding on the purpose and concept
of model reviews. To that end, let me present my own philosophy and
criteria.
ARM: Review - DML 1/72 T-34/76 Model 1942 German Army20 May 2006 01:27 GMT4

X2 Mini Mill - eBAY Item number: 761967229319 May 2006 20:58 GMT17
The last one of these went for £310.   This mill seems to be one favoured
for CNC conversion - how does this guy survive shedding these so cheap?
Typically he kicks them off at £1 no reserve.
No connection  - just seems a risky way of selling kit.
Model steam engine bits19 May 2006 15:37 GMT2
I've been helping the the widow of a recently deceased model engineer
to dispose of the contents of his workshop and the remaining bits
appear to be pumps, valves and a boiler or heat exhanger. I'm not a
model engineer but I feel sure that some members will recognise them.
Cylindrical Squares19 May 2006 13:23 GMT4
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in turning me a couple
of cylindrical Squares?
Not looking for anything special such as ground and hardended I
imagime ordinary bright bar would suffice as they are only for home
Proxxon problems19 May 2006 12:05 GMT3
I have (had?) a Proxxon Precision Drill Grinder FBS230/E.  I was using
it to slowly cut a 3mm slot in some 1.5mm carbon fiber tube (using a
new TC mill bit) when it went "pop" and stared to run rough.  After
some investigation it seems the motor is shot (large arcs inside).
P-38 Yippee question19 May 2006 07:10 GMT2
I mentioned recently that I wanted to build a 1/72nd 5,000th P-38
which was in the fire engine red Yippee scheme.
I was offered a set of decals which duly arrived so I am now starting
the model.
1/48 Humvee?19 May 2006 07:10 GMT6
Has anyone made one of these? How about any other modern
equipment for airfields like refuellers, jeeps, trucks?
I have the R-M set and I know about the ERTL set.
