Bilek/DML/Dragon MiG-17G15 May 2006 04:59 GMT3
I just bought a copy of the Bilek Mig 17F in 1/72 scale which turned
out to be the same kit as the DML/Dragon offering. It's a nice model
although one could probably nitpick at a few points about accuracy. The
only real problem with it, that I have spotted so far is that the kit

the mpc/airfix hu 52 isn't really a bad kit.
i like it better than the italieri which has all sorts of
fit issues. some of the detail parts are better, so you can
rob one for the mpc.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of trimming Chinese type
scales to size?
I have bought a 150mm from Chronos at Harrogate (Bargain at £19.00)

I'm after a counterbore, 13/32" diameter 5/16" pilot, preferably with

Page 160 of the J&L online catalogue has the right counterbore

I want to build a furnace to cast Inconel, which melts at ~ 1350 C.
I'm planning on using 1450 C as a target kiln maximum temperature, and 1550
C rated castable insulating refractory. Is this sensible?
I also need to be able to evacuate the furnace to a fairly high vacuum. I'm

A friend sent me a nice 1/72 kit of the I-15, parts only, missing the
clear parts.
I started it last night and I became curious as to what kit it is. I
