(Auto) Looking for 1/25 scale door handles and mirrors?11 Jun 2006 03:05 GMT2
I'm in need of some 1/25 scale door handles and door mirrors for the 1969
and 1970 Chevelle, 72 Nova and several other kits by AMT, all have molded on
door handles and no mirrors.  Some of the Revell/Monogram kits have nicely
molded chrome door handles and mirrors (like the 1955 ...

What's good for recreating brushed aluminum look?11 Jun 2006 00:14 GMT10
I have an old MPC/Ertl RD-D2 kit, and the chrome plating really irks
me.
If you look at photos of R2, his head appears more like brushed
aluminum, at least to me.
Does Anyone Know Of A Book Or Archive of F view drawings of Subs?10 Jun 2006 17:59 GMT1
I found a book at Barnes and Noble that had lots of interesting single
profile of submarines from all eras. Vessels you know will never be
kitted in model form. I am wondering if there are more significant
sources with four view of various submarines?
Question about cost of models.10 Jun 2006 15:03 GMT32
How come Hasegawa can make a new Stuka in 1/32 and sell it for less than $40
(guaranteeing that I buy at least one and Trumpter can't make a 1/32
anything for less than $100 (this guaranteeing I will probably not buy one)?
I really like the SBD (and the TBF) but I can buy 3 Stukas ...

1/25 Corvette woes...10 Jun 2006 01:39 GMT1
Is there some reason why Revell seem to be categorically incapable of
getting the paint guides of their Corvettes right? I've just had to pul
the engine of one of my corvette kits in order to repaint it, because
the instructions are more or less inverted when it comes to the colors
Flaring 22mm pipe10 Jun 2006 01:10 GMT14
I need to put single lip flares on the end of several lengths of 22mm
pipe. All the pipe flaring kits I've seen only go up to 5/8"
(exception being RDG with one up to 3/4") however no one seems to
stock a flaring tool in metric sizes above 16mm.

Weird paint schemes, what-ifs?09 Jun 2006 03:14 GMT20
A while back (several years ago) I started a thread of
'what-if' paint schemes for a B-36.  I eventually went
with a SIOP over a gloss black belly and under surfaces.
What other cool 'what-if' schemes have youguys and
1:32 civilian pilot?08 Jun 2006 22:18 GMT6
I just bought the new Revell 1:32 ASK 21 glider, which is a beauty,
and I want to to display it hung from my ceiling.  Problem is it
doesn't come with a pilot figure - not usually a problem for me but in
this scale and with that big glass canopy . . .  you get the picture.

Camouflage upgrading - branches08 Jun 2006 17:33 GMT3
I would like to add extra feature to my camouflaged tank - tree branches
(with leaves). Do you have any tips how to do that?
I thought of train modellers accessories but I am worried that HO trees
won't fit the scale (1/72) or the detail won't be good.
