Good afternoon I was wondering if you could help me with some
information. My father in law has just come into possession of a lathe
which is unfortunately in pieces & we are attempting to find some
instructions & possible some spare parts or any documentation to go
Horizontal mill overarm material source31 Aug 2006 20:55 GMT1
I wonder if anyone knows a source of 42mm diameter ground bar in
roughly metre lengths, suitable for a horizontal mill overarm?
I bought an arbor that is too long for my existing overarms, hence
they need to be extended/replaced.
question for airbrush cognoscenti!31 Aug 2006 18:02 GMT2
I have a 50% off coupon for a local craft outfit and was checking out
their airbrush selection. I noticed they have the Iwata Eclipse. They
also have two other airbrushes that look very similar to the Iwata but
have the following labels.

According to the BBC News, Airfix have gone into receivership this morning.
The parent company Humbrol blames falling sales due to competition from

Milling Spindle Motor31 Aug 2006 08:08 GMT18
I am planning to make a milling spindle for my chipmaster lathe. I
cannot decide which type of motor would be best.  It needs to be
resonably small in size.  I have a small single phase motor and have
thought of using a sewing machine motor but maybe they will be too low
Question re R/M 1967 Corevette Coupe & Roadster Kits31 Aug 2006 02:34 GMT3
Can the engine and interior parts from the Revell/Monogram 1967
Corvette roadster be used for the Revell/Monogram 1967 Corvette coupe?
Are the parts identical?
The reason I ask is that I bought the '67 Corvette coupe on eBay only

Gas fire salvage30 Aug 2006 20:16 GMT4
We had our old "open coal" gas fire replaced yesterday and I salvaged the
fireproof material that formed the fire tray.
I tried the propane torch on this stuff and its not only got fantastic
insulating properties but it reflects back an enormous amount of heat.  So
USS Reeves DE-156 /APD-52 Color Scheme30 Aug 2006 18:47 GMT2
In August-October of 1945 the USS Reeves was assigned to picking up
former US POW for repatriation to the US. One of these was my father.
Because of this I would like to build a model of the Reeves as it
appeared at that time. But, I am having a hard time getting correct
motor help30 Aug 2006 16:46 GMT3
Hi Guys, I hope you can help me. I've managed to get a hold of a compressor
with a busted motor. I already have a motor to fit to it, but don't know if
I need a starter also. It is a  Brook Crompton ED90LD single phase which I
think is capacitor start induction run. It has a ...
Need help with tubes?30 Aug 2006 01:19 GMT4
Most of my small projects have used inch square tube, comes in approx 7
metre lengths and I cut and weld to match the job.
When looking at a basic go-kart frame for my kids I thought I would try
round both inch and 3/4" or even nearest metric sizes.

I'd appreciate any info.
