P&W R-1830 Engine Color25 Oct 2006 22:59 GMT5
I'm doing a multi-engine plane with Pratt & Whitney R-1830 engines.
I believe the Model Master "Engine Gray" 36076 is a pretty good
match for the crankcase.  Can anyone suggest a color match for the
cylinder heads? TIA
drilled for lightness...25 Oct 2006 21:29 GMT13
one of the things I've been making recently is a 20mm steel axle, 124mm
long.
in the interest of making it lighter, I drill it down the middle; ideally,
I'd have tapered holes, 3 degrees (roughly) on one side and 10 degrees on

But, I'm looking for a bit of a challenge that I can build in slow time in
parallel with my normal builds. When I build jets, they are in 1/72, so I'm
thinking of something in 1/48. My abiding memory of working on ...

I'm in the process of getting my original ML7 ready to sell, since the old man
left me his long bed 7b.
Being a conscientious sort, I'm giving it a clean up and overhaul before
passing it on to anyone else.

Seems like the former king of model design and production, Tamiya, has
really been left in the dust by upstarts like DML and AFV, and probably
Trumpeter. Yes, Tamiya kits still fit the best and have the best
engineering, but at what cost?

I have two 2" discs of 1/2" aluminium which need to slide (roundwise) against
