T-28D Question30 Nov 2006 23:27 GMT11
I've been looking at the CollectAir 1/32 scale T-28B kit and am wondering
how much work would be required to convert it to a Special Ops TAT-28D.  I
know about the need to add pylons and gun packs and probably removal of the
tailhook.  I also seem to remember something different ...
'Nother tricky thread30 Nov 2006 22:50 GMT7
On the subject of tricky threads, does anyone now how to calculate the
thread form used in a Quimby pump? It's two threads which mesh, one right
handed and one left handed, as in

Bristol Erickson Acramill collets30 Nov 2006 22:07 GMT11
I'm on the lookout for a collet or two for this nasty design of a holder,
and that easily lost screw lock bit, one that takes a 12mm slot drill and a
1/2" one initially.
Did Clarkson ever make a QC 30 holder?
Xtrakit Meteor F8 - first look30 Nov 2006 19:15 GMT5
Today I received a number of kits of the new Xtrakit 1/72 Meteor F8.  This
is a version of the forthcoming MPM kit, specially boxed for Hannants.
Let me start with a niggle. I don't like the box! It's the standard box that
all MPM/Special Hobby kits come in and is very similar to ...

Alclad Good Service30 Nov 2006 00:59 GMT3
A few weeks ago, a couple of posters queried if there was some Alclad on the
market recently that didn't behave properly -- basically never fully dried
nor became impervious to white spirits. About the same time, I purchased
four bottles of various shades of Alclad online and ...
More gear related stuff.29 Nov 2006 23:29 GMT33
I discovered yesterday that the previous owners of my Hardinge had used a
mixture of grease, water and swarf as lubricants, instead of oil in the apron.
This has lead to somewhat triangular tooth forms on some of the gears and
severe pitting on all of them.

INT30 to MT adaptor29 Nov 2006 15:03 GMT9
Question to all those out there who have more experience than me, is
there such a thing as a INT 30 to Morse taper adaptor, similar to a R8
to MT sleeve that I have seen advertised.
I have seen a milling machine head with a INT 30 taper and all of my

We are settling in to the new house finally. Have no idea when I'll get back
to modelling, hopefully not to long. One of the unpackers was gaga over the
model boxes, seems he built models as a kid and was looking forward to doing
some with his kid. Liked the old Revell and ...
Turcite vs Moglice vs Delrin29 Nov 2006 11:53 GMT41
I have been toying with the idea of making a 2 1/2D cnc router to cut out ribs
etc for model airplanes.  My thoughts for the slides were hovering around
lengths of ground ms bar, the saddles being cut from box-section ms having holes
drilled for plastic bearing bushes.  I've read ...
