| IJN Yamato | 15 Nov 2006 19:17 GMT | 10 |
This is not at all in my field or scale, but has anyone seen the Tamiya IJN Yamato sectional kits? They look to be about 1/700 (I forgot to check) and they come as seven (IIRC) seperate kits, each a vertical cross section of one part of the

| Welding crack in cast iron central heating boiler | 15 Nov 2006 16:29 GMT | 10 |
Probably a hopeless task without specialist welding services and as yet I haven't even got the thing to bits to see where the crack is. However if it's accessible and the whole thing doesn't look paper thin can anyone on here, preferably not a million miles from Slough, have a crack ...

| "Rollies Dads Method" | 15 Nov 2006 03:34 GMT | 11 |
There is a fabled way of checking and setting the headstock alignment of a lathe to the ways which was discussed years ago on various groups that became known as 'Rollies Dads Method'. I can find references to the phrase but not a description of the method - does anyone have a

| Trumpeter 1/32 Corsiar--opinions? | 14 Nov 2006 18:36 GMT | 15 |
I've been tempted to get one if the price is right, and now it's at least better ($34). I'm a big bent-wing fan, but I already have three Revell kits, and a cockpit PE set for one of them. I've had the Trumpeter box open, and there seems to be quite a bit in there for detail ...
