| Radius attachments again | 14 Nov 2006 07:38 GMT | 7 |
The subject of radius turning attachments seems to crop up quite often. I needed a small number of M10 brass round headed screws, not enough to warrant ordering some, so I dug my attachment out in order to

| Releasing cross slide handle/thread - HELP! | 13 Nov 2006 15:19 GMT | 7 |
Streuth! I'm having a ball getting this milling machine in to my workshop. Apparently my brainwave of removing the table from the knee by just winding it off the back wasn't so great when it cam to reassembling on the mill. Knee is nicely in place but there's not

| Plastic guns (Marushin ?) | 13 Nov 2006 12:16 GMT | 11 |
Anyone know of a supplier of plastic gun kits in the UK? I need to source a Colt Navy (1851) revolver as a prop, so it has to be 1:1 scale. Years ago I build a couple of kits that I bought in Japan (a Colt 45 and a 9mm Beretta) and they were amaziingly lifelike. I think

| My uncle died on a WWII sub | 13 Nov 2006 02:27 GMT | 2 |
For anyone interested...and it seemed appropriate for Veterans day weekend plus the fact that the Gato sub kit is the big thing recently. I thought I'd relate some personal family history. I always knew my dad's brother was killed on a sub in WWII. And I kinda knew the name

| Tangless arbour on live centre | 12 Nov 2006 18:41 GMT | 1 |
I bought a live centre a year or so ago and never got round to doing the job I bought it for. It sat in it's box 'til the other day when I got it out, fitted it and used it. Works great but when I tried to release it from my Boxford tailstock it was curiously reluctant. When I ...

| TIG or OA | 12 Nov 2006 18:36 GMT | 15 |
As if I don't have enough to do, I need to make a couple of stands and lifting trolley from square steel tube. A 4" Little Samson and 7.1/4" loco are weighty items. Now I've used OA in the past, but not TIG.

| Any kits of IRL cars? | 12 Nov 2006 14:23 GMT | 1 |
Are there any kits out there of IRL cars? Though I normally build U.S. military aircraft, I'm also a big fan of the IRL's Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher. Notice I said IRL: I don't mean Chump Car. Given the media attention on Danica, I'd be suprised if there wasn't a kit of at
