tricky thread27 Nov 2006 04:41 GMT13
I have an idea for a new invention but have a problem with machining a part,
Imagine a 40 mm dia X 50 bar with a 20 hole through, one end of the bar has
a 20 degree countersink forming a sharp edge to the OD. This csk blends with
the 20 bore by a 14 mm radius-looks like a trumpet ...

A Real IPMS Nats Question (Not dog doo)27 Nov 2006 02:02 GMT8
I think I got lost in the dog turd discussion.  I was wondering if a
full day is enough time to allow or should I plan more time?  Also, I
will not bring a bag big enought for the GATO.  I think I would have to
borrow my friends golf bag carrier for that one.  One other question,

Hey ho, at last, something that had been sitting in my cupboard for,
oh, 6 years or so: 1/72 euII Kaiten suicide torpedo model. In fact,
the crew must have mutinied, for the hatch is missing :-) But it
turned out very well, even the decals cracked from exposure to heat
Pure unadulterated plug26 Nov 2006 22:24 GMT11
Got a job on doing some small gear selectors in aluminium bronze, the
drawn variety.
The job calls for two M3 tapped holes 10mm deep into a bore.
Now for anyone not familiar with this material it's horrible.

Hi Troops:
I have run out of patience with the old Netscape, ver. 4.7 e-mail

is a easy way to transfer my address book from Netscape to Outlook? I
Mystery puller26 Nov 2006 10:27 GMT4
Among my spoils from the auction the other day was a job lot of
miscellaneous pullers. The main item I wanted was worth the bid price,
but there were some oddities which have got me stumped.
Strangest is this lot, made by OTC:-
Spitfire Seats26 Nov 2006 05:20 GMT2
I've come across references on this site and others that claim Spitfire
seats to have been made from Bakelite. They were actually made from
resin bonded paper!
The resin used was a reddish brown in colour, similar to bakelite but

Small square of rubber wanted for gasket25 Nov 2006 20:56 GMT12
Need a piece of rubber about 6 inches square and 3mm to 4mm, to go under a
blanking plate to seal off a flange.
Nearest thing I have here is a mouse mat, but rubber looks a little too
soft, might even be porous.

Source for reduction bushes?25 Nov 2006 03:21 GMT2
Anyone know of a cheap source of reducing bushes for pulleys?
I've just got one from ebay, and it has a 3/4" bore instead of the 5/8"
I need.
Trouble is, its to fix my lathe, so I can't make one.
British Archer SPATG  kit question?25 Nov 2006 02:22 GMT1
