7/16" T-Slot - Myford size?13 Dec 2006 10:44 GMT2
My Marlow mill has 7/16" T-slots, which is marginally annoying as I
don't have any that size. I've been doing a bit of searching and found
that Chester sell a set sized at 7/16" and list it as being suitable
for Myfords. I've already got a 1/2" T-nut set thing, so as long as I

Is it right that if an invertor is used to power the main motor it
cannot also power the suds pump and light, but an convertor can.

Tis is the rating plate on a dewalt saw.
Can anyone suggest the meaning of P1 and P2?

The only interpretation I could guess at is electrical power in =P1

What does "top posting" mean?13 Dec 2006 02:50 GMT31
I keep seeeing messages that blast people for doing it, but I don't know
what it means.  By virtue of that, I very well may have done it at some
point (for which I retroactively apologize).  I looked in the FAQ, but it
didn't say anything about it.

Little advice on assembly?12 Dec 2006 17:47 GMT7
Hi all!  Been lurking here for a few days...
I've been scale modeling off and on for about 15 years now and I'm
quite comfortable with most facets of the hobby, although my
'perfectionist' side has only come out to play these past few years.
Making an air rifle12 Dec 2006 17:44 GMT29
I've always fancied trying to make an air rifle - I'd buy the barrel
from somewhere as rifling it looks difficult with the equipment I have
to hand. Does anyone know if a licence is required for manufacture (it
would be under the 12ft/lbs limit)?
Aldi's 18 volt cordless drill12 Dec 2006 16:32 GMT7
I was considering this for next thursday at £20 with two 18 Volt batteries.
I looked at the brochure & it says the batteries are "1.3 mAH NiCd batteries"
Perhaps I don't talk brochure talk right but this seems to me to be incredibly small.
If I am right in reading this as ...
Discoloration on granite surface plate12 Dec 2006 10:19 GMT4
I left a stainless steel based height gauge (current affordable Asian DRO
type) on my dark granite surface table for ~6 weeks.  I now find that just
where the stainless steel base contacted the granite, it's markedly lighter
in colour. The area between the two legs of the base is ...

Slight differences12 Dec 2006 09:32 GMT2
Over the weekend I needed to change the anvil on a 2"-6" micrometer. As a
matter of course I checked it against my (Chinese) gauge blocks. After having
done this, on a whim, I checked it against the late father's incomplete
collection of gauge blocks. Those blocks are mostly Matrix, ...

Testing to see if outgoing is working - incoming sure as heck isn't.
