My post on the thread about "home made decals: laser or ink jet" is so
far back some of you may not see it. I would really like for you to read
it and also my post on the binary page.
In particular I would like you to read about #2. This is the one where

Has anyone built, or is anyone building, the new Transall C-160 by Revell?
Has anyone purchased one? If so, can you tell me what you think of the kit?

Tiny Furnace Success14 Dec 2006 09:13 GMT19
Thought I would share a small success with you. About a month ago I
decided to sort myself out a little furnace for annealing or hardening
tools or small lumps of scrap metal I want to re-use, and today I am
chuffed to have run it up to 850C for well under my £200 budget
Early MK I Spitfire14 Dec 2006 05:00 GMT1
Does anyone know if a company makes the parts necessaty to convert the
Tamiya 1/48th Spitfire MK I into an early production machine with the 2
blade prop and small canopy.
Also, wasn't the exhaust stacks the early "kidney shape"?

Hardening furnace: Not yet over :-(13 Dec 2006 22:15 GMT3
OK, my posting yesterday stated, that the repaired hardening furnace is up
and running again. But then it went dark in my shop.
At 950°C and 9PM the RCD switched off power. Complete darkness in the shop,
but at least I didn't fall over things when I went to the fuses.
Velocette Clutch Springs13 Dec 2006 21:54 GMT6
Hi Group
This is a long shot but can anyone give me the sizes of the old Velocette
motor cycle clutch springs. If we have a size and number of turns we hope to
get some made. Thanks
Slot drills13 Dec 2006 18:42 GMT19
I needed to cut a 1/2" slot the other day. I didn't have a 1/2" slo
drill, so I considered using a 12mm slot drill and after one pass
nudge over 0.7mm and take a second pass. Then I vaguely remembere
reading somewhere that one must only use a slot drill in a slot. I

I was pondering today, and nwonder if anyone here knows if the following

1)  A Napoleonic era "74" (ship of the line) in 1/99 scale (or close to
it.)  I currently have the Heller Victory and Revell COnstitution at that

7/16" T-Slot - Myford size?13 Dec 2006 10:44 GMT2
My Marlow mill has 7/16" T-slots, which is marginally annoying as I
don't have any that size. I've been doing a bit of searching and found
that Chester sell a set sized at 7/16" and list it as being suitable
for Myfords. I've already got a 1/2" T-nut set thing, so as long as I
