Fixing warped wing after assembly12 Jan 2007 17:52 GMT11
Hi folks. I'm building Revell's big 1/32 F-14. After getting the
airframe assembled and primed, I noticed (sadly) that the outboard
portion of the left wing was warped. Don't know how I missed this
before getting to this stage, but nevertheless I did. Any possibility
US Armor sand/tan color12 Jan 2007 16:55 GMT1
I just received the M2 halftrack kit from Dragon, which looks great! I was
thinking of painting it in the two tone scheme of OD and sand.
Is there a good testors/tamiya color equivalent for this color? It'll be
weathered regardless, but I want to get the right hue to start.
Pressure Oilers12 Jan 2007 09:20 GMT6
Gentlemen
Some readers will be pleased to hear that the pressure oilers have
arrived from Germany - most others will, no doubt, not give a rat's a.s but
that's another matter entirely!   Individual packages should be in the mail
Bridgeport paint colour12 Jan 2007 07:12 GMT4
Is there any significance in a Bridgeport by Adcock & Shipley being painted
in Green as opposed to a machine painted Grey ?
My own theory is that green was a "colour" of the period.
Unless anyone knows different

Cleaning Needle Files11 Jan 2007 21:49 GMT12
Spent the morning going through my tools and doing some cleaning and
general housekeeping.  Now for the files.  Other than the "file card"
does anyone have any tricks to clean up my needle files as well as the
larger ones.  They have really loaded up with plastic and even some
Drilling a hole in an Allen key, no really!11 Jan 2007 16:52 GMT15
Bit of a challenge.  I need a 4mm Allen key with a 3mm hole drilled into
it!  Why, you may well ask!
A customer has a door entry/security system that operates a maglock
above the door. For some bizarre reason this is the only unit on site
Bringing wet machinery indoors11 Jan 2007 14:29 GMT3
My air compressor has been outside for sometime.
It's mostly covered but in this really wet and windy weather, it has
got a bit damp as you'd expect.
I'm planning on bringing it in to the garage, but I don't want it to
Running 115v device on 230v11 Jan 2007 14:26 GMT100
I have a purely resistive (heater) load of 1.5Kw intended for 115v AC
that I want to run off 230v mains. Ruling out a conventional
transformer from the bulk and price my next thought was to use a
simple power diode in series to block one half of the cycle so running
more about the nightfighter paint11 Jan 2007 13:14 GMT3
history channel had a show about nighty fighters and it had
various shots of p-6's. they were all glossy as hell. it
looked like the ground crews kept them polished up because
it was a mix of ac. the undersides looke especially bright.
Black Araldite?11 Jan 2007 09:34 GMT11
Does anyone know where I can find a 2 pack epoxy, something like black
araldite? I need to fill the end of an aluminium tube, so that I can drill
and tap an M6 thread in it. I only need about 10cc's total, so I don't want
to have to buy a big tin of Devcon etc.
Correct Gray Paint Color for R/M F-86D Wing11 Jan 2007 08:03 GMT2
Any color recommendations (Tamiya or Pollyscale) to correctly replicate
the gray color of the middle section of the wing on the Revell/Monogram
F-86D?
Thanks,
