DML P-51D06 Jan 2007 00:04 GMT6
I just picked up one of the new(ish) DML P-51D kits.  To the eyeball, in the
box, it looks like, well, a P-51D.  It has recessed panel lines, of course,
and a lot of recessed rivet details.  Unfortunately, it has this abundance
of recessed rivets on the wings as well.  As I ...

1/72 scale--Anyone have a set of the instructions of the very old
Hasegawa RA-5C Vigilante? It is kit number E001, but any comparable kit
will work. This kit has markings for the USS Constellation, USS Ranger
and USS Independence.

Recient quotes05 Jan 2007 15:31 GMT8
Recently there were two quotes one of Herman Goring and the other by Dwight
Eisenhower poster to this newsgroup. They were  diametrically opposed in
philosophy and I would like to put them in a saved folder. Would it be
possible for the original posters to post them again or send ...

Xtracrylix/Xtracolour paints - accurate?05 Jan 2007 10:52 GMT1
I've decided to switch to acrylic paints for spraying and I'm looking
for a manufacturer that does an accurate range for WWII RAF aircraft.
Xtracrylix appeal because they have a complete range, including
FAA/Coastal command colours, and they're easily avilable in the UK.
Cone clutches05 Jan 2007 07:49 GMT1
I need to devise a clutch system for my home made powerhammer.
Traditional mechanical hammers use steel on steel cone clutches so I
wondered if anybody here has any experience of machining cone clutches
from scratch. Would I be better off using the clutch from a small

Is this the same Fletcher Class Destroyer?05 Jan 2007 03:41 GMT2
Is the Tamiya kit, the D-520 the same type as my grandfathers
destroyer, the USS Strong? She was sunk in 1943 and I don't know if the
Fletcher class was modified during its run.
thx all - Craig
Working Out A Thread05 Jan 2007 00:28 GMT9
I've got a tapped hole about 5mm diameter and was wondering what it a 'good'
way to go about finding out what type the thread is. I've trying screwing
various bolts into it but nothing seems to fit.
I seem to remember someone here once saying they stick blu-tack down the

A have a old British made bench drilling machine free to anyone who can
collect. It is one metre high and very heavy, I can just about drag it
a couple of feet. There is no motor but there is a 3 phase switch. It's
in Wallasey, Wirral. I can post a picture or two if anybody wants.
