Recently-the IPMS sent Dave over to Sherri's house to break open the piggy
bank of that ugly baby she had a while back--thats how desperate they are
for income!
I here tell they are gonna charge per model at future nats!

Not an armor guy but I thought this slide show of  a captured T-34 being

Tamiya customer service19 Jan 2007 03:28 GMT3
What is up with Tamiya (USA) customer service?  I have been trying to
call them (800) 826-4922 for a week, but constantly am dumped into a
"all representatives are busy - please leave a message blah blah blah."
So I left them a polite message detailing what I am after and ...
Glue for Card Models19 Jan 2007 01:37 GMT7
I picked a couple of card model kits while I was vacationing in
Germany last month ( 4 old German townhouse buildings - 1/160 scale -
and King Ludwig 2nd Newschwanstein castle - 1/250 scale). and was
wondering what is the best type of glue for this type of modeling?
Source for thin spanners18 Jan 2007 17:58 GMT16
Hi Chaps,
I need a 7/8 inch spanner that is thinner than 4.5mm thick.  This is so I can
grip a thin nut without also gripping the locknut on top of it.  This in turn is
so I can undo them,  because the thread they're locked to can rotate and there's
Rattle can valves?18 Jan 2007 15:57 GMT4
Does anyone know of a source for the ordinary plastic valves for ordinary
spray paint cans?
For some reason, several cans of primer have lost their valves and it seems
to be on ongoing problem so I'd like a source for a dozen or two.
No more AMT / Ertl Kits ??18 Jan 2007 15:16 GMT8
RC2 announced late last week it is dropping the AMT line of automotive
kits. It's also dropping the AMT, Ertl, Joy Ride and Racing Champions
die-cast lines. According to a news release fom the company these lines
didn't make the profit margin they had expected so they are
Poor Instructions Rant18 Jan 2007 14:52 GMT8
In the age of digital photography, photoshop programs, and outstanding
cadcam programs, how can the model companies keep printing such
terrible instruction sheets.  Even the build sequence and part number
references are wrong in many cases.  I spend an average of at least 2
Three phase motor drive18 Jan 2007 08:26 GMT10
A young man here has acquired a Harrison Lathe which was desdined by a
school in North Uist to the skip.
I have not yet seen the lathe and hope to do so when the gales stop but I
thought I would throw in a question here in the meantime.
Ping Tim. Lots of gear blanks.18 Jan 2007 07:46 GMT17
I have just about finished making gear blanks for the HLV apron. There are 11
blanks for the twelve gears because one of the blanks will serve for two
finished gears.

I'm looking for a 1/35 scale figure of Batman, preferably seated (for
the Batman Begins Batmobile).
I'm also looking for a 1/72 scale pilot.  Something with a helmet
similar to Clint Eastwood's in "Firefox" or Jan-Michael Vincent's from
Cape Hobby & Gift18 Jan 2007 00:45 GMT1
Just wondering if anyone else in the group has any experience
with ordering from Cape Hobby & Gift. I placed an internet order with
them close to 5 weeks ago and so far nothing. No model, no response to
emails or phone calls, no refund.
