I have a nice precision bench mounted drill surplus to requirements. It has a large electric motor and runs fast. Ideal for precision drilling small holes and is fitted with a small chuck - I think it will take up to about 8mm shank.

I have a metric Sieg x3 that I bought from Arc a year or so ago that is just gathering dust. It comes complete with the stand, a vertex K4 vice, 6" rotary table + dividing set, Boaring head+ bars and a few end mills.

I like to mount my figures by drilling a hole into one leg where I can glue a short lenght of paper clip wire into it and stick the other end of the wire into the base. Recently I found a cheap 1/4 drill chuck that has a stem that would fit into a 1/4 inch hex screwdriver socket.

Can anyone help my by recommending a light oil for small precision mechanisms? I have been playing about with low differential temperature sterling cycle engines recently, and have one that quite happily runs on the tiny bit of heat generated by my computer monitor.
