| Hole drilling connundrum | 06 Mar 2007 23:21 GMT | 5 |
--OK here's the thing: I'm trying to figure out how to make some small (1/4" dia x 1/4" long) widgets on my Myford lathe. I plan to use a compound turret accessory, mounting enough tools to make the part in one chucking.

| 155 Gun Motor Carriage Question | 06 Mar 2007 23:16 GMT | 2 |
was curious about the Academy kit. I wikipedia'd but was unable to find out the number of crewmen for this thing. I don't think the kit comes with figures. I assume it would be safe to use regular ETO American troop figures

| Monster 110-220 Transformer | 06 Mar 2007 21:59 GMT | 25 |
I've got one of Peter Forbes' monster trannys and it's surplus to requirements (plans have changed). If anyone wants an 11kva 110-220 transformer free of charge then speak up. I can deliver probably in and around London. It definitely not

I have just acquired an Elga, the seller told me it had a 30int taper but I have now discovered it has the same taper as a Newall 1520 machine. I have nothing to fit this taper, do I remain patient and search on Ebay or is there anywhere else I might get an adaptor. Is

I've fitted Mitsubishi S520S VFDs to my mill: a 0.75Kw for the main drive and 0.4Kw for the table drive. Both have been in use for almost 2 years. A few days ago the table drive suddenly stopped - I had been using it,

| [Arm] Revell T-34 (1/34) | 06 Mar 2007 04:51 GMT | 5 |
Whilst perusing my small collection of unbuilt kits (which has been in storage for some time) I came across this one that I purchased at a flea market somewhere a few years back. It's a 1995 re-issue of a 1958 original: the 1/34th scale (1/34? I suppose it made sense at the

| Tank Road Wheel Painting Jig. | 06 Mar 2007 03:29 GMT | 2 |
This question comes up quite often: What is the best way to paint the rubber rim of a tank's road wheels? I just impoveised a jig which is a delight to use and I can paint a wheel rim accurately in 3 to 4 minutes.

Got a couple of pennies burning a hole in my pocket, and was thinking: how much do I need a plasma cutter? So I'm asking the gurus: you peeps. I do basic metal-working, just learning and for my own amusement. Have

| Styrene, Polystyrene, and CA glue | 05 Mar 2007 22:28 GMT | 7 |
Model Expo is selling a new brand of CA glue. They warn that it is NOT for polyethylene or polystyrene. I got some free samples with my last ME order, and I have been using it for plastic models and it seems to work fine.

| Herbert 4 Senior Pre-Optive Lathe issues | 05 Mar 2007 16:48 GMT | 5 |
I hope someone is old enough to remember the old Herbert. Mine is 55 years old. First of all I am a beginner, so much of this is pretty basic. I am trying to make a bush to allow a 3 sheaf V belt pulley with a large keyed internal diameter of about 1.75 inches fit securely
