If you're in the middle bit of the UK, be sure and check out Dominoes Toys in Leicester. Great model department, they stock everything from the usual suspects (Revell, Tamiya, Dragon, Academy, Trumpeter) to less frequently spotted kits from AFV Club, Roden, SMER, lots of other ...

| Shackletons again, sort of OT- | 19 Mar 2007 13:13 GMT | 3 |
Some of you might have read my earlier post about wanting to score a Modelcraft or RoG Shackleton, because I have a thing for contrarotating propellers. We were at Home Depot, scoping out a new ceiling fan for the den and there it was- it's too small for my den (very big, most of ...

Are there currently any sources for pre-punched styrene sheets for the Mattel Vacu-form? Drilling all those holes to prepare a sheet is a pain!

Would anyone in this newsgroup be able to supply me with 12 x sheets of 1mm thick titanium, dimensions 60mm x 4mm? Even better would be 9 of the above, and three of 1.5mm thick, with equal dimensions.

| British aviation terminology | 19 Mar 2007 05:02 GMT | 44 |
Do the British still use the term "airscrew"? How about "aeroplane?" Is this still preferred in Great Britain to "airplane?"

| Modelcraft Shackleton- opinions? | 19 Mar 2007 05:02 GMT | 5 |
Yes, I know this is the ancient Frog kit I built in 1968 or so, yes, I remember the millions of rivets, but is the reboxing worthwhile? How are the decals? I can't help it- I'm enamored of contrarotating propellers.

Finally got the 1/32 Academy F16 C off my kitchen table. Pictures over in abms. I'm off out to celebrate shortly, after nearly 10 years "off the tools", this was *not* an easy one to choose for a comeback gig.

| Where to get fine sand? | 18 Mar 2007 03:05 GMT | 6 |
I need a mug full of fine river sand for making dioramas. The river is still frozen for me to get some from there. Any suggestions on where else I can find any? That stuff in railway hobby shops is dyed the wrong colors, is kinda too even grainy and costs a few bucks.
