Myford S7 PXF17 Mar 2007 21:00 GMT2
I just spent a happy hour or two facing off buckets of swarf, and for
about the 1,000th time wished my S7 did not pre-date the introduction of
power cross feed. Apart from the backache, I am getting a headache from
the cutting oil smoke and it would be nice to be able to stand ...
Xtracolor drying times17 Mar 2007 18:13 GMT9
I normally use Xtracrylix acrylic paint, but there are some colours that
aren't available in the range. For those, I have to use Xtracolor enamels.
What is the usual drying time for these paints when sprayed?  In my
experience, it can be quite a long time. I sprayed an F-4 with ...
Russian Figures17 Mar 2007 16:03 GMT2
In gathering together all kinds of WWI 1/72 stuff for the next book
and doing a stack of Russian WWI/Revolution figures for a client, I
came accross a listing for the following:
Airfix 1/72 Russian Imperial Infantry WWI Poly Plastic.
WTD: Tripan-holders #131, #132 and #13417 Mar 2007 11:25 GMT1
I want to trade three Tripan-QC tool holders.
One #131 (plain tool holder)
One #132 (30° tool holder)
One #134 (for a part-off blade. It's marked A0, but the Komet A0 blades do
Surface grinder and auto lathes16 Mar 2007 23:54 GMT8
I have been asked to remove a surface grinder from a local company. It is
not a Jones and shipman, and there is no magnetic vice. The machine is
apparently in working order, it is larger than a J&S 540, and until Friday,
I do not have the makers name or model, or any photo's.
electronic light kit16 Mar 2007 17:22 GMT1
Hi, I'm helping a friend out with his model spitfire, I'm doing the
light circuit for him. I was wondering if their are kits available
that do this kind of thing already? If so can anyone suggest some
links? I'm familiar with electronics but not so much with model
I am stunned - Al Superczynski16 Mar 2007 16:06 GMT3
Sorry to rehash this sad topic, but I just this evening learned of Al's
passing, and must say I'm feeling a great loss.  I used to spend a lot of
time on RMS, and back in the 90s when Revell's 1/48 B1 kit was still "rare",
it was Al who answered my query as to whether anyone had ...
Choosing Micrometers16 Mar 2007 12:10 GMT6
As a newbie I would like to buy some micrometers, digital ones.
What are the benefits over verniers and what benefits would I get from it.
Also a surface plate, how does one have the benefit of one of these too?

Bevel gears wanted15 Mar 2007 21:48 GMT15
I'm looking for a pair of 1:1 bevel gears to reproduce an old engine
control. Sizes not critical, but originals were something like 2.5" -
3" dia & 14 teeth, ie bigger/coarser than what's readily available for
sensible money from the likes of HPC. The large tooth size is useful
Milling Machine Spares15 Mar 2007 18:59 GMT6
Hi All, Before I set to to make one, does anyone know if I can buy a
replacement longitudinal feed screw nut for a Marlow Mill?
It's 1" O/D, 1.625" long with square thread .75" X 10 TPI.
Any help appreciated,

Exponentially OT: High School Reunion15 Mar 2007 15:34 GMT38
have been emailing back and forth with old classmates about an
upcoming 30th reunion.
Man it feels so weird emailing one of my old crushes, shared memories
of school life way back when. Saw a picture of her recently and she is
gluing Plexiglass15 Mar 2007 11:36 GMT12
I figure you guys know all about gluing things so I'm looking for a glue
which will work on Plexiglass - the stuff they sell in hardware stores
to repair storm door windows.
I've tried white glue, crazy glue, Rhino glue
