OT, sort of22 Apr 2007 15:16 GMT2
I was reading the other day about P-61, in preparation for doing a build,
and saw that a Robert L. Scott shot down a plane in the China ops area. Does
anybody know if this is the same guy from "God Is My Co-pilot" fame? That
book ends with him going back to the states early in ...
Cutting metric thread on imperial lathe22 Apr 2007 09:22 GMT12
Can someone remind me how to cut a 1.5mm thread using an 8tpi lead
screw. I don't have a metric conversion gear, but I have the normal
steps of 5 up to 65 including many duplicates and a couple of 38 gears
(which I have never used so maybe this is what they are for). I think

provides a few names such as 'Duraboard' and 'Isofrax' and 'NAD500'
but technical information is sparse. Has anyone experiance of these or

Arthur Everard21 Apr 2007 09:45 GMT1
Arthur Everard, my father, was an avid member of the model engineering
news group. I am not sure how much he joined in with the online
discussions but I do know that he followed the discussion s with
interest.
airbrush recommendation21 Apr 2007 06:15 GMT6
A buddy of mine is looking to make his first purchase of an airbrush
(possibly at IPMS Seattle) and builds cars, mostly. I do not know much but
would like your opinions - ones to avoid would also go well with him, too.
Revell and Matchbox SA 330 Puma in 1:3221 Apr 2007 03:14 GMT7
Does anyone know if these two kits are the same? Or rather if the Revell kit
is an updated version of the old Matchbox. Revell has reissued several of
their kits, but so far those I've seen without change except decals.
But the old Matchbox Puma is the early version and the Revell ...
News.datemas.de downtime...20 Apr 2007 21:53 GMT2
The news.datemas.de server seems to have been down for about 18 hours
- its back up now (as evidenced by this post!) but there don't seem to
have been any posts in that time. Have they lost some stuff?
I can't believe that the group has been silent for that long <G>
gas turbines (bit OT, but not too far - it's for a working model    turbine)20 Apr 2007 11:52 GMT9
I noticed that a few contributers here recently mentioned that they might
have some connection with gas turbines - would anyone be able to point me in
the direction of a good reference for turbine design, or be willing to help
me design a turbine?

Q:  How to thin "Mr. Resin" primer?20 Apr 2007 07:29 GMT5
I purchased a bottle of "Mr. Resin" a primer produced for resin kits
sold under the Gunze-Sanyo brand.  It brushes on okay but it would be
easier if it were airbrushed on.  It is thicker than GS's "Mr.
Surfacer" primer for plastic.  Does anyone know if Mr. Resin can be
