| Question: New Kit Parts Problems | 10 Jun 2007 18:45 GMT | 5 |
I am curious about the experience of others when they open a new kit and inspected the parts. I have been at this hobby on and off for 50 years now and its rare (none comes to mind) to have any problems with the plastic injection parts. I build them right out of the box. Its

| Moving a CVA single handed | 10 Jun 2007 12:49 GMT | 18 |
Picked up my "new" CVA lathe today. It's a heavy old beast for the back of a double garage at 1450kg. I rented a 12ft platform trailer and towed it behind my Volvo V70. The maximum towing capacity of the Volvo is 1800kg so this was right on

| P-51 rivets | 10 Jun 2007 00:41 GMT | 2 |
Last week I had the opportunity to check out a P-51D, and at least on this one, there clearly are rivets on the wings, both top and bottom. For ease of maintenance, the whole plane is painted, and of course it is completely restored. The owner was unaware of any instances where ...

| When To Remove Masking Tape | 09 Jun 2007 23:53 GMT | 4 |
Usually I don't use masking tape because I generally go with one color for my models. However, I am going to paint a Grumman Albatross using 4 colors (white, red, blue and black, and of course Tamiya fine white primer). My question is: when does one remove the masking tape?

I've acquired a non-working 1992 diesel Wacker (compactor) plate of enormous size (144Kgs) fitted with a Farryman 15D single cylinder diesel engine. I think that the problem is the injector as it's nose looks horrible (semi-melted), and if I disconnect the pipe into the

| Quickie Review: Jules' CD | 09 Jun 2007 06:06 GMT | 13 |
I got my copy in yesterday's mail and have had a look at parts of it. There are very many pictures on this disc and the detail captured is very clear on most I've looked at. One can see just how crudely Soviet air machinery was built.
