Illyama 17" auto ranging svga monitor in good working order - about to
go to the tip unless someone wants to collect it from Bromley in the
next week or so. Also several keyboards, mice, i/o cards, boxes of odd
cables, transformers, drawer of components, telephone instruments, and
FA: Heller etc.08 Jul 2007 04:02 GMT1
Next up on eBay are 20 kits, most of my Heller boxed kits and some
relists  from the last time.  Relisted items include a shrinkwrapped
Airfix B-24J, a Bloch MB-152,  a Monogram Huey Hog with parts bag
still sealed and a couple of Japanese aircraft.  Heller kits include
Oddball aircraft model set07 Jul 2007 20:54 GMT4
Anyone ever have this set?: http://www.cahood.com/M4071.htm
It was a set of snap-together wings, tails, fuselages, tails, and
what-not that you could assemble into a whole slew of aircraft designs.

Xtradecal 72-072 USAFE UK-Based F-4 Phantoms - comments07 Jul 2007 17:06 GMT1
I've just received this sheet today.  I hate it!
Hate it!  Hate it!  Hate it!
Why?  Because it has blown my carefully crafted F-4 building plan right out
of the water!  ;-)  There are two schemes which have gone right to the top
F-4J to F-4C07 Jul 2007 14:27 GMT19
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to accurately convert a 1/48 Hasegawa
F-4J Phantom II to an F-4C? I want to use the J kit due to its recessed
panel lines.
Also who has the best F-4C cockpit?
Nickel plating07 Jul 2007 11:15 GMT12
Does anyone have experience of DIY nickel plating?
There appear to be several firms selling kits of chemicals but I
wonder if there are many snags that can cause a poor quality finish.
ISTR that it is normal to copper plate steel before nickeling - will
make a new window (clear parts forming)07 Jul 2007 07:54 GMT2
I need to make a replacement cylindrical window for an old model I'm
making.  About 1" in diameter, 3/4" tall.  Any suggestions??  I've
thought about heating up a metal rod, they wrapping a thin piece of
plexi around it, but I'm not sure if that will craze the inside.
Recently  At least half I Want From Squadron is Out Of Stock A Diecast Store?07 Jul 2007 06:50 GMT11
Less and less I think of Squadron as a model company and see it as a
pre-made toy company. I have better luck with Roll Models in terms of
having them tell me when they expect items to come in. I have Squadron
hold onto my credit card number so long I forget I have items out

they ran the whole revolution series today and it was ok.
they got about 90% right which is above average for them.
oddly, most of the 10% were errors about washington.

Proxxon lathe/mill/tools Forum07 Jul 2007 01:46 GMT2
The Proxxon tools forum is up and running.  The Files currently contain
factory manuals with parts diagrams for the PD400 and PD230 lathes, the
FF230/PF230 mill, and other tools.  In the Photos file are detailed images
of the lathes and other miscellaneous.  More info on the way.
Chuck choice06 Jul 2007 17:20 GMT9
I'm after a 100mm chuck for my ML7. Is there a huge difference in
quality between the TOS chuck at £65 and the Pratt Burnerd at nearly
double that, or indeed the Toolmex threaded body one that Chronos do
for £180?
Anyone into Betamax ????06 Jul 2007 14:12 GMT2
Clearing out my loft prior to my house move, I've come across my
complete Sony F1 portable betamax system that I must have packed away
25 years ago! Complete SL-F1 recorder, TT-F1 tuner, HVC3000P colour
camera, all the documentation and even a waterproof professional back

What's the difference between flat, matte, and gloss?06 Jul 2007 12:06 GMT7
This may seem like a stupid question, but I'm a beginner so it's
temporarily permissible to be ignorant.  I don't know the definition
of "matte."  Dictionary.com defines it as "flat," so I need some
clarification.
