Vinyl figure help24 Aug 2007 02:12 GMT13
I am working on the AMT/ERTL Darth Vader figure & it is about 13" tall.
It is my first vinyl figure & is quite a change from what I am used to.
Here is my (first) question. Around the edges of the cape/gown, there is
a ridge. I have carved most of it off but it is still visible. ...

Anyone ever tried RainX on kit canopies?22 Aug 2007 17:36 GMT3
Heya folks!
I'm also a parts salesman and auto-mechanic when I'm
not teaching or working at the TV station (all of that is
true!) and was just putting RainX on my wife's car's wind-
Case Hardening22 Aug 2007 10:02 GMT14
It looks like Kasenit is now impossible to find (unless someone knows
different).
Any ideas what the stuff (Eternite) that Chronos sells is like, or are
there other suggestions.
Myford register22 Aug 2007 09:25 GMT2
I read about the importance of a clean true register on a lathe spindle to
ensure accurate location of the chuck etc. but which part of the spindle on
my ML7 is the register? Is it [a] the surface of the 31.9 mm diameter
section behind the thread, [b] the axial face of the 41.1 mm ...
Reissued Hawk Space Models22 Aug 2007 09:22 GMT25
On a lark, I contacted the resurrected Hawk model company, and asked if
they had any plans to reissue their kits of the Convair Atlas orbiting
space station and the Vanguard satellite.
They said if they can locate the molds _they do_ intend to reissue them.

Sort of OT: Gatling Gun Use in WWII?22 Aug 2007 05:08 GMT10
the gun existed as far back as the 1860's.  Anyone know why the weapon
was not developed further?  A few Spooky's in the ETO would have been
interesting....

A-1 Skyraider kits in 1/72 scale22 Aug 2007 01:25 GMT3
I'm interested in doing a Spad, and was wondering what the pros and
cons are of the Hasegawa 1/72 kit versus others.    Anyone built the
Hasegawa versions?
What's the Point?21 Aug 2007 20:14 GMT10
So I do really need to find a way to come up with some cash as the old
battle axe is not working.
Selling off the models seemed like the logical place to start.....but
then I go over to Hyperscale and find that there will soon be a 1/32

FS: Harrison H mill (and may an Elliott shaper)21 Aug 2007 15:16 GMT9
I'm buying several items from the (Hampshire) workshop of someone who's
recently given-up. One of the items I don't want is a smallish Harrison
Horizontal mill which appears to be in good condition (unfortunately I
don't have table size info but it looked larger than my Tom ...
3D Printer Update21 Aug 2007 11:54 GMT24
The new Popular Mechanics did a spread on the item below.  They are
now priced about $5,000 which is way cheaper and smaller than other
units out there.  The prediction is for machines under $1,000 within 2
years.  This could get interesting.
