Stopping in at Meteor Productions03 Nov 2007 22:25 GMT3
I am travelling to Bethesda MD this coming week and notice Meteor
Productions facility is relatively close to there.  If I stop in, it delays
my travel plans about 5 hours and adds about 2+ hrs in traffic (depending on
DC traffic on a Friday afternoon).
Steam Whistles03 Nov 2007 21:17 GMT4
Any pointers please: Where I can find dimension/drawing of a steam whistle
to go with Tubal Cain 'Simple Model Steam Engines'  (about 20psi)?
I can find lots of info on safety valves, stop cocks, gauges etc. but no
whistles. Have the 'PC Brigade' banned steam whistles as well as ...
ML7 OIL NIPS03 Nov 2007 18:52 GMT10
Hi ya,
I bought some new ball type oil nipples from Myfords while at their open
week, which Ipromptly installed in  place of the originals.
Obviously, I can't use an ordinary oil can on these nipples, so what is so
Straight Lines???????03 Nov 2007 16:27 GMT15
And here we modelers are, trying to make the sharpest lines on our invasion
plane models.
Take a look at how it's done in real.

f.ck ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh03 Nov 2007 15:31 GMT6
Sorry for the bad language but its how i feel...
Just tried straightening the rear tail on a 72nd Italeri SU22 2 seater, been
working on the kit for months on and off, had to spend ages filling and
making up new pylons and the kits are way wrong, shaping, even fitting a
Boring to a face on a mill03 Nov 2007 04:50 GMT4
Given that bores for bearings etc often bottom out to a face, how do
members deal with this if they only have a boring head for the mill?
(not a boring and facing head)
Let us assume that the part in question is too big to swing on the
Bevel Gears03 Nov 2007 01:12 GMT2
.
Can any kind soul point me towards a source of ready made bevel gears
please?
Seeking a couple of sets 14:41 with the 'crown-wheel' at around 82 mm.
Oil cans03 Nov 2007 01:07 GMT11
Why do pump action oil cans leak? I have two that both mysteriously
accumulate oil over the outside and onto the shelf where they are kept. I
initially thought changes in air pressure were causing the oil to vent via
the spout, but having drilled vent holes in the bodies the oil ...
EN51??03 Nov 2007 00:53 GMT11
I need to make a few 2T semi-diesel hot tubes which are subject to both an
external blowlamp and internal combustion heat. External spalling is the
biggest issue I think.
The original drawings call for EN51 which appears to be moribund and without
Anyone got a surplus 2" bore hydraulic ram?03 Nov 2007 00:51 GMT16
Does anyone have an unwanted 2" bore hydraulic ram? Preferably as long
as possible. It's okay if the seals leak, I just want the body.
Why? I want to use it to build a spud gun. Using a ram body seems like a
good idea because you get a large diameter pipe with a connection to a
Billing Boats Bohuslan Plans02 Nov 2007 21:07 GMT2
I purchased a kit of the Bohuslan made by Billing Boats on eBay.  This is a
very old wood kit and unfortunately the kit was apparently started and is
missing the plans, two parts of the decks, the keel pieces and all the hull
ribs.  I can easily scratch build the parts, but need ...
Seafire XV colour schemes02 Nov 2007 20:52 GMT16
Did the Seafire XV ever carry conventional Red, White & Blue roundels rather
than the PTO Blue & White markings?
If yes, are there any decals available to suit in 1:48th scale? The kit is
the Hobbycraft one, so I'm looking at an aircraft with the stinger hook
Flamefast Help02 Nov 2007 19:22 GMT4
I've just picked up a Flamefast DS220 brazing hearth/forge. It's very
similar to this:

It's currently set up for natural gas and I want to use it on propane.

How do you get your paint into your airbrush02 Nov 2007 14:20 GMT15
I'm interested in the technique that people use to get paint from the
bottle to their airbrush.  A straight pour? A dropper into a different
container for thinning and then a pour?  A dropper the whole way?  Any
info will be great.
