New Modeler09 Jan 2008 23:54 GMT14
I have always wanted to get into models, mainly modern day warships. I have
a line on a Revell USS Iowa kit in 1/350 scale. Although its not a currently
available model new, it is new in the box with the factory seals. Since it
is a larger scale than usually available should I ...
Squadron Turns 40!09 Jan 2008 19:45 GMT9
Wow!!  40 years of Squadron Mail Order.  There are some really good
deals in this flyer.  If January is any indication of how the rest of
the year will be in regards to specials, I'm going to be a lot poorer
by the end of it.  How many of you have been a member since the

Removing Old Decals09 Jan 2008 05:04 GMT8
I'm 3/4 of the way through dealing with the really old built kits that
have been hiding in boxes for 30 or more years.  There are a few that
I want to attempt to restore while I break down the rest for parts or
just trash them.  One common problem is old decals need to go and some

Craftsman Twin Model Engine08 Jan 2008 22:05 GMT4
Does anyone know if the engine castings for this model are still
available anywhere, or of a complete engine for sale? My father was
involved in its development back in 1948 along with Ed Westbury and I
thought I would try and get hold of a kit or a complete engine for
Laser Cutting08 Jan 2008 20:51 GMT18
Can anyone point me to model engineer friendly laser cutters (by which
I mean people who don't mind relatively small orders and don't have
minimum order charges).  location isn't important as the parts I want
are small enough to post for a few pounds.
Rommel's Rod is coming back!08 Jan 2008 06:57 GMT14
The thing about is that you can actually picture the Germans building a
half-track limo: http://www.moebiusmodels.com/rommels_Rod_Model_Kit.php
If you saw that in a book of German military vehicles, and it would look
right at home.

Figure for Jadgpanther07 Jan 2008 18:21 GMT21
Which hatch does the tank commander use?  The rear one or the one
midway on the righthand side?  Is is common for the commander to
expose himself from the hatch during combat like tank commanders?
A Nice Video from a Workshop07 Jan 2008 11:26 GMT12
An unusual subject - they don't make 'em like used to; or do they!
A bit of run-out on the turning bits, but hey, horses for courses.
I like it :)

I need to make a special reamer, and any advice from the group would

I've been asked by a friend to ream the oilite bushes to size in the
rear suspension arms of a classic Mini Cooper.  For those unfamiliar
