Spring Steel06 Jan 2008 20:12 GMT5
I need a few lengths of spring steel for a project.  About 15-20mm
wide and 0.5 -0.8mmm thick by 600mm long.  They need to be H&T ready
to use.  Any suggestions for a source?  Most of the suppliers only
want to sell me a roll of the stuff, and I only want two or three
WTB P-5106 Jan 2008 19:06 GMT3
Hi Group. I am still looking to buy an Accurate Miniatures 1/48 P-51B or C.
I would prefer an outright sale rather than an eBay auction. Please contact
me directly. Pete thelaws@cfl.rr.com
Acrylic paint "gelled"06 Jan 2008 09:20 GMT8
One of my Model Master acrylic paints has, well, gelled. It has the
consistency of pudding (which is all I can think of since it's RLM 79
Sandgelb). What should I add to the bottle to liquify it again?

Be neat if ''some'' model company came outwith a line of kits from the
latest film, the pre manufactured figures are nice, but,I rather build
them.
South Indy hobby shops05 Jan 2008 23:15 GMT1
Today I ventured up to the southern marches of Indianapolis (Greenwood). I
found out two things: 1) Tom Metzler Hobby is no longer at 7418 Madison Ave
(don't know if it moved or went out of bidness). B) Hobby Town USA at 7765
US 31 S is not actually on US 31 S, as I found after ...
Cutting fluids04 Jan 2008 17:43 GMT9
I see Castrol make a dozen or more different metal cutting fluids.
Is there a general purpose one that will cope reasonably well
with most metals ?

Does anybody have experience (good, bad, or indifferant) with these guys?
I tried ordering some stuff on-line and it was not good - tried contacting
by phone (if you want to place an order) AND the webmaster (problems with
viewing order and shopping cart are directed here) and ...
How do I paint wires?04 Jan 2008 15:59 GMT8
I'm using some strands of telephone jack wire to detail a cockpit...not sure
how to get paint to stick to it.  It is currently silver and I want to be
able to paint it black and copper...any suggestions would be appreciated!
When I've tried it before, the paint comes off very ...
What I did in the holidays.....03 Jan 2008 23:29 GMT12
To take you away from all the conspiracy crap I had a little fun over
Christmas (BTW the crap is filtered out by my news server so I don't
even need the rules -  I had a look on Google groups and was appalled
at the quantity. )

I have been going with someone since August and it has been working out
just Great Too. Well - I have to tell you that she Likes and understands
the Whole Idea of Building Models and is really Ok with putting up with
all of the Quirks and the traits which some of Us as Modelers and
We need a good Ford Trimotor03 Jan 2008 15:04 GMT3
Really looked over a cherry Ford Trimotor at a museum recently, and
took lots of photos.  Anyone know of a good model of the Trimotor
other than the repopped box scale Revell version?  We need a good one
in true 1/72 scale!  I'd also like to see the Fokker trimotor.  That

Was wondering what the dual oxygen tank looking "thing" is on the port side.
The instructions (Hasegawa, Mk Vb) indicate it should be red...which I take
to mean it is some type of fire suppresant system.  But, others on the
internet have suggested it's an oxygen tank...which is ...
So what is the well informed modeller researching/building these days?03 Jan 2008 03:23 GMT17
Right now I'm reading Rick Atkinson's "Army at Dawn" which tells the tale of
the US Army's WWII baptism of fire in North Africa. Highly recommended. I'll
probably follow that with Google scouring Cookie's reviews to help cobble
together a short list of the most interesting (and ...
