Testors Paint27 Feb 2008 14:50 GMT7
I once heard that you can mix baby powder with gloss paint to make it flat.
Is this true? I cannot locate a flat paint in the color that I am using and
it looks horrible glossy on the B-17 I am building.
SF Bay Area shops27 Feb 2008 04:41 GMT4
I've been travelling to the San Francisco Bay Area from the UK for a
number of years now and have always taken a trip to the San Antonio
Hobby Shop down by Mountain view. It always had a superb array of
plastic models but looking at the web, it looks like the shop has

problem with all kits or are there just a few lemons out there??

Early model kit web page26 Feb 2008 11:51 GMT10
Stumbled on this:
http://www.philsaeronauticalstuff.com/oldmodels/oldmodels.html
Which has a section devoted to early plastic aircraft models as they
evolved from wooden aircraft models.
Dazzle painted ships article26 Feb 2008 10:22 GMT19
Short article, but worth seeing for just how strange a dazzle-painted PT
boat looks.
It's hard to tell it's even a ship, much less a PT boat:

rod plastic model kits?  I've Googled it numerous times and never seem
to find any hot rods.
Thanks,
Machine sounds26 Feb 2008 00:32 GMT8
Found this on another forum and thought it was amusing, then again it
doesn't take much to amuse me.

Swastika on Bismarck Deck Question25 Feb 2008 22:53 GMT16
The new 1/350 RevellGermany kit does not have the swastika decal.
so, what to do about that?    would be shame, at least for me, to
build a nice kit and have some nasty hand painted swastika, etc on the
deck.
Gluing Wings to Fuselage Question25 Feb 2008 14:37 GMT8
If there is one thing I always screw up on is getting a smooth seam
along the wing root. There is always a ridge and I suck even more at
smoothing it down...
Has anyone tried the idea of gluing the top parts of the wing sections

Has Osprey (or anybody else for that matter) published a book on WWI
Russian vehicles yet?

Thick paint clogging airbrush25 Feb 2008 03:46 GMT8
I usually use Tamiya acrylics and never get that problem. I needed to
use a certain blue from Polly scale that I couldn't find locally in
the tamiya brand.
It is very thick on the bottom and no matter how much I stir it up , I
Update on my 1/400 scale Lindberg HMS HOOD25 Feb 2008 01:33 GMT8
Well work has commenced on this, ahem!, Lindberg model of HMS HOOD.
First I have decided that all I want is a reasonably HMS HOOD model to
muck about on the pond with this spring and summer. It would be nice
if the model were atractive to display when out of the water as well.
Is it time for a new airbrush?24 Feb 2008 21:50 GMT8
My airbrushing problems seem to have no end. A little frustrating to
say the least.
I own an Iwata eclipse ECL-4500 gravity feed and have had it for a few
years.
