Is there a US source for the correct "hemp" color used on the RAF Nimrods?
In the same area, were any Nimrods painted overall grey?

Warning Will Robinson!27 Mar 2008 03:21 GMT8
I'm trying to replicate one of the  first season Lost In Space  laser
guns. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing this?
Particularly any ideas about the somewhat corrugated "power chamber"
at the top over the handle:
Goofed,  broken drill into workpiece :-((26 Mar 2008 20:21 GMT35
I've managed,  through nothing but carelessness,  to break a 1.5mm drill bit
in the cylinder head of the little glow motor I'm (still) making.   Only one
hole left to complete and I broke the soddin' bit into the head.   I've been
dripping sulphuric acid into the hole for the ...
Spring source26 Mar 2008 20:16 GMT12
No, nothing to do with the date or season.
I need a couple of tension springs, about 35mm long x 8mm diameter
with hooks at both ends. For a throttle return application.
Any suggestions as to where to look online that doesn't make me buy
2  1/32 Bearcat Questions26 Mar 2008 20:02 GMT1
Instruction section #3 - Just what am I building in this section ??
What's with the orange/yellow interior for certain areas and interior
green for others?   I've never built post war planes  - never heard of

Has anyone received their 2008 Squadron Product Guide?  It looks
impressive.  I like the way it's layed out.  The index in the back

Lathes etc and tooling25 Mar 2008 22:19 GMT6
Things have changed since I bought my ML7 in the early 1960's for £120.
There are now enquiries about CNC machines and fancy insert tipped tools.
Maybe I don't know what I am talking about but I thought that CNC machines
were for repetition work and tipped tools were for use in high ...

An exhibit of scale models shows the grandiose plans of Hitler and

Burgess and Record Bandsaws25 Mar 2008 20:08 GMT2
I have a Burgess MkII bandsaw and a Record Bandsaw, both looking very
similar and both behaving very similar in that whenever I try and use
them I spend my life putting the bl@@dy blade back on the pulleys.
The Burgess MkII has a washing machine motor driving it (complete with
Engine pluming, "armored" lines and anodized fittings25 Mar 2008 16:23 GMT6

various things.  They feature the metal mesh covered lines, and the
brightly colored anodized fittings.  Were these actually in use in
WW2.  Although I was still a school kid at the end of the war, I don't
