Moving a hole in a casting, by half a hole19 Mar 2008 12:09 GMT11
I would like to convert my tailstock lock from a nasty split clamp to
a normal locking system. I need to enlarge the clamp bolt hole and
centre the new hole on the edge of the existing one (approx).
The old hole will probably be entirely absorbed by the new one. The

OK, I've solved (more or less) the cross-feed, it's now got about 2 thou'
backlash in the middle and pretty much zero at the ends, which is doubtless
down to wear in the screw.

Hello I have made some home made transfers with white transfer paper, what
do I seal with, its says acrylic but my floor polish is causing runs and
smudging. My test one ran badly despite being covered.
Any ideas on what to do please?

I have tape lifting paint for the first time in...well, I can't remember the
last time.  Gunze Mr. Surfacer as primer coat; 4 very light coats of Tamiya
semi-gloss black with each coat lightly sanded and buffed; paint thinned
with Tamiya thinner; left to dry for three days before ...
