| Boxford 'Raising Blocks' | 12 Apr 2008 11:26 GMT | 2 |
I have a 5" Boxford AUD, the fixed steady it came with is for a 4 1/2" lathe. Does such a thing exist as a 1/2" thick pad that has male and female 'Vee's to fit the bedways so that it can be used to raise the centreline?

Anyone have a good online source for free cutting mild steel (in the UK)? I'm also interested in general in recommendations on where to get stock. I normally end up on eBay or buying from RS, but does anyone

| Dickson toolposts | 11 Apr 2008 20:48 GMT | 3 |
Can anyone tell me if S2T toolholders fit an S2 toolpost? Rotagrip's catalogue shows both sizes of toolholders as being 98.5mm long but the S2T post is 106.5 square compared with 98.5 for the S2. Tony Griffiths' web page doesn't show the length of the toolholders.

took over a kit collection recently. After viewing all the kits, I'm auctioning off all double kits. Some are rare items like an AMT EC-135C or a VEB (ex East German) SU-7. Have a look at: http://search.ebay ...

| lathe rebuild help | 10 Apr 2008 18:06 GMT | 4 |
I recently bought a cheap (small) lathe) it's only about 3x12, and possibly a zyto (althoough unbadged) At the moment, it's got two drill chucks on it - a "foreign" make hand-tightened chuck of about 1/4" capacity mounted on the tailstock,

I've been tempted by the low price if this kit and would like to know if someone has seen the sprues... is it Hasegawa, as Revell's B, or is it the old Monogram mold? Thanks in advance,

| T-34/76 Question for Cookie | 10 Apr 2008 13:33 GMT | 8 |
I have just got a second Tamiya 1/25 T-34/85 tank I'd like to convert to a T-34/76 version. Using the Tamiya 1/35 T-34/76 version with a Commander's cupola and a circular hatch as the model to copy I noticed that the T-34/85 turret

| How the heck? ...fuselage seams | 10 Apr 2008 10:06 GMT | 7 |
What's the best way to eradicate the seam running down the top of the fuselage (on any aircraft model)? (I can live with a crappy underside!) Some models are such a good fit that the seam just needs a gentle rub over, and suitable painting, and it disappears (good enough for my ...

| Kit Suggestions | 10 Apr 2008 03:24 GMT | 9 |
It's been many, many years since I've put together a kit, so I thought I'd canvas the group for suggestions. My interests in the past have been 1\48 or better, ww2 aircraft, especially twin engine. I'd prefer to start out with a relatively easy build and then work up from

| Kasenite case hardening | 09 Apr 2008 23:40 GMT | 40 |
Needed to case harden some parts today - first time in a while. Dug out my tub of 'Kasenite substitute' Dagarnite which I bought over a year ago at one of the shows - I think from Chronos but maybe not. Now with genuine Kasenite you can heat the part to cherry red, dip it
