A reason why the Raiden has never shown up again in 1/32?29 May 2008 01:47 GMT13
its all over the place in 1/48.   It took Hasegawa almost 40 years to
do the Hein in 1/32, How much longer for the Raiden?   We need to stop
passing around the old Revell kits....
Hey Trumpeter, if you can put pontoons on a Spitfire, a kit that what,
Heller 81138 1.48 Patriot Instructions28 May 2008 16:45 GMT2
I'm new to modeling, and got this Patriot missle battery(Heller 81138) from a
friend. All the parts are still in plastic, and the stickers are there...but
no instructions.
I dont see any way I can put this thing together with no instructions or
Trumpeter 1/16 T-34 builders?28 May 2008 05:08 GMT3
I was wondering how many of you out there have or will be building one of
the Trumpeter 1/16 T-34's?  Comments regarding the build of one of these
beasts?   jim
What's the oldest part in your parts box?27 May 2008 21:46 GMT23
The thought crossed my mind while replying to another post.  For myself I
built what I believe was a Revell 1/32nd Spitfire way back in the 70s that
allowed for multiple versions. As a result I ended up with an extra cowl
scoop and a few other parts that at last recollection are ...
XB-7027 May 2008 18:57 GMT15
After a long time of not modeling ( 6 years) I'm in the middle of
trying to restart this beast. Is it just me or is this just one of the
worse fitting models around? And if the B-52's from the same stable,
are just as bad, I will just put them on Ebay. It looks like I'm going

Eagle Suirface Grinder26 May 2008 23:47 GMT10
Hi to all you knowledgable and helpful people,
Enough buttering up, is there someone out there with an Eagle surface
grinder. I bought one yesterday without handbook or grinding wheel,
but at a very advantageous price.
Grumman Avenger26 May 2008 23:16 GMT6
I`m building an old 1/48  Lindberg Grumman TBF Avenger. The instructions
suggest upper surfaces Insignia blue fs 35044 this cross references to
humbrol 189, which appears to be discontiued, can anybody suggest an
alternative colour in humbrol or revell paints. It does`nt
I'm sure this has been asked before26 May 2008 10:22 GMT10
and quite possibly by me, but I've forgotten the answer.
Anyone got a link to a list of tool speeds for things like slot drills, end
mills and such?
I know in theory you can work it out.  But I'm lazy.  Actually been doing
Anyone Know Why Hasegawa Hasn't Released Their F-111 Kits In A Long Time?26 May 2008 02:17 GMT9
With the exception of the "spark vark", Hasegawa hasn't released their
line of F-111 kits in years. Anyone talk to a hobby shop owner as to
why these great kits have remained out of production for so long?

Regrinding live centres25 May 2008 22:12 GMT17
I was looking out for a decent new MT2 live centre at Harrogate, there
wasn't much about. Chesters had two qualities, the better one looked
quite good but I was discouraged from giving them my money by the
surly staff response to my enquiries.
Sub Prop25 May 2008 21:25 GMT2
Am trying to find an accurate replacement prop for the Revel 1/230
Skipjack kit.
Does anyone know who makes an accurate re[lacement for the bogus kit
three blade prop?
Lathe Facing Problems25 May 2008 18:58 GMT11
I've developed a problem when facing on my lathe, I do a lot of small
dia disks (20-40mm) in 6082 Aluminium and when it comes time to polish
the face I'm noticing concentric circles appearing on the finished surface.
They're not to pronounced, I'm able to polish them out easily ...
PayPal alert - new policy?25 May 2008 14:18 GMT8
I had an interesting experience with PayPal last night:  I trird to pay for
some items & when I got to the payment confirmation page, it was trying to
fund the payment through my credit card Vs. my checking account (my
default).  When I tried to change the funding source, I got ...
Nightmare25 May 2008 12:18 GMT3
Was just dozing when I had a dream this morning that I was just finishing a
version of the new 1/32 F-86, after having spent hours with Alclad getting
the surface just right.
I was about to use the decals, when, in the dream, I spilled a bottle of
