Boy,  this group is quiet atm !
I'm trying to source M8 square headed toolpost screws but google
doesn't seem to be much use.  Does anyone here know of a UK supplier
who actually stocks these ?  I tried my list of usual suspects but

Anyone know of a good source of  second hand "Britsh Standard
Shelving" - the sort with pressed angle uprights with holes every 2",
and folded steel shelves. All the stuff I'm being offered, and the
stuff on ebay has tacky chipboard shelves and clips together

Decided to fit stepper motor onto bull wheel of lathe
to create a dividing head via a worm.
Reasoning that the stepper had a ball bearing embedded

I need to make a gear carrier for keying two gears together to make
new cluster and I will need to fit the 1/8 inch sq key to the 1/8 inch
x 1/16 inch slot in the carrier.  I'm interested to know what is the
best way to go about this ?  The key has nowhere to go when the gears

I have a pair of reading glasses that had a huge scratch in the main
viewing section and it was driving me nuts. I cleaned the lenses and
then dipped them in Future, no more scratches..........................

My ArcEuro X3 was delivered today.
What a nice thing it is. I've never owned a brand new machine tool
before, and so far I've not really done much past get it installed and
take a few test cuts, but it is very pleasant to use.

A local garage has a newish looking Bradbury car lift which siezed
the nut on an elevating shaft. Bradbury fitted a new one and the old
one is out for scrap.
Shaft is about 2400 mm overall with screwed length 2080mm and 40.24mm

I have about 4 gallons of old coolant (soluble oil and water) that I need to
dispose of; the local council tip only accepts used motor oil so that's out.
I had thought of trying to separate out the oil so that I only have a small
volume to dispose of but can't think of anything ...
