I have been using bandsaw blades from ChesterUK for my Chester H80
Bandsaw. Size of blade 1300 x0.63 x12.5mm. Who do you recomende for
replacement blades. I  pay about £8 per blade at Chester. I am looking
for long life over cheapest price. Cutting is 80% steel 20%

I'm using Ivan Law's book to design / cut some bevel gears usig the
"Parallel Depth Method".  An errors or omissions in his text?   Seems OK,
but not done this before and I'd rather find mistakes on paper rather than
on the machine!

I've just obtained two dial gauges as part of a job lot, they're
absolutely filthy, one is minust the glass & the other is a bit sticky
but they look as though they should be decent gauges if they're
cleaned up.

I have a 3 phase motor from a Meddings Pillar drill which is fitted
with a light alloy step pulley which is keyed with an L shaped key
(it looks a bit like the gib keys used to hold flywheels on stationary
engines).  They key is fitted with the short leg of the L over the

I bought some RTV a while ago and it went off in the tin.  I did not
notice that it only has a 6 month shelf life and before I buy a
replacement I wondered if there is any practical way of prolonging
it's shelf life ?  (Like eg by refridgerating or freezing it ?)

Ok, I've acquired a set of Burnerd multisize collets. They haven't bee
used for a while, and I was thinking about stripping them down t
inspect and clean. My questions are:
1. Is it wise to even think about disassembling these collets?
