I know this is not really "model" engineering, but I'm hoping someone can solve a recurring problem I have with 9" angle grinders: The f***ing nut that holds the disk on keeps overtightening so I have to use an extender bar to unlock it.

you ok, bro? i went for a ride thursday. the red sr took about 2 miles to clear out the cobwebs. good thing, because i forgot the satbile again. this year i'm gonna ride and model more. life is too goddam short. still worried about bill b.

I went to use my trusty Araldite only to find that the tops would not unscrew, and my attempts to do it were twisting up the tubes themselves, with a rupture likely.

The Meddings pillar drill which I have been working on is fitted with a 1/2hp Newman 3phase dual voltage motor. After some dismantling and cleaning it is now wired for 3 phase delta operation rather than star. However, I'm not sure of the best way to run it from a single phase

I have a 4 kW (5.25 HP) Transwave rotary three phase converter that is now surplus as I've had 3 phase installed. It'll go on eBay unless someone here wants it. Current list price is £725 plus £35 carriage so something less than that is acceptable!
