Winch Project30 Sep 2009 22:34 GMT16

I've been asked at my sailing club whether it would be possible to have
a winch to pull boats up the slipway.  The boats in question are patrol
boats with outboard motors and probably weigh about 500 pounds.  The
what paint to use for figures?29 Sep 2009 20:38 GMT1
I've just recently returned to modelling after almost cutting my finger off

I use an airbrush with Tamiya acrylics to paint my larger models but when i

Wing-fuselage mismatch27 Sep 2009 05:15 GMT6
While this always has been a potential problem, I find it occurring more
regularly these days.
The problem is a mismatch between the airfoil thickness on the actual
wing versus the thickness on the fuselage- that is on the outboard edge

Has anyone got experience in fitting crimps onto 2.5 mm steel cable.  Such

Painting problems with model kitts22 Sep 2009 19:51 GMT10
Last time I built a model kit was when I was a teenager,  15 years ago.  I

recently decided to attempt to build some of those kits.
The problem is my experience in painting them.  15 years ago I was more
Acrylic with enamels22 Sep 2009 12:45 GMT9
I keep hearing the cautionary phrase, "Acrylics and enamels don't mix."
I always assumed that it would be very unwise to mix them in the bottle.  Is
there a reason that acrylics cannot be used alongside enamels on the same
model?  Or, either over-sprayed with the other when ...
