Searching for a book title.29 May 2010 05:13 GMT2
Gentlemens,
I'm passing this on to the brains trust - 5-6 years ago, I read a
'scholarly work' about the last days of Berlin in WW2. In that book was
a list of the artillery pieces the Germans had to defend the city with,
Korean War Allied Armour questions...29 May 2010 00:50 GMT2

reading a few books.  Two things have appeared
Bridgeport motor questions28 May 2010 15:36 GMT22
I have finally taken the plunge and bought a Bridgeport mill.... well
the Adcock built version of it actually J2B with the vari-speed head,
the machine is 3 phase and I only have single phase here, so...it has
one of the modern ad-on drives to the X-axis (110volt) and a coolant
Selling an EMCO FB-2 milling machine.28 May 2010 08:09 GMT2
A colleague at work has had a relative die and is trying to sell a milling
machine for the widow.
The machine is an EMCO FB-2. These are almost as common as hens teeth in the
UK. and are a bit like one of the Chinese mill-drills would be if it were
Laycock 1551 Garage Press28 May 2010 07:57 GMT16
If any of you trip over a Laycock 1551 'Garage Press' - it's a 60 ton
H frame hand operated hydraulic press - then I'm seeking one
currently. Bit bigger than the average model engineer would use but
you never know!
Newbie lathe question - turning a disk27 May 2010 19:00 GMT7
I have a disk of aluminium alloy, thickness 8 mm, OD approx 70 mm, with

Can anyone suggest a good way to do this in a mini lathe (a Sieg C2A),
please?
Web based forums26 May 2010 18:05 GMT43
We have discussed a number of times how Usenet seems to be dying.  We
remember when this group had hundreds of messages a day.
I have concluded it is time to find web based groups.  I will hang
around for awhile, still, but find much more activity on the web.

Seeking good home for old mechanical stuff24 May 2010 10:55 GMT1
a family relative has died recently and left a garage full of ... stuff.
This consists of a large mixture of tools, fixtures and fittings, acquired,
made or (possibly) bought over a lifetime of working in the British
automotive industry, man and boy. I'm talking about imperial ...

Hat Hanomag half-track?24 May 2010 01:32 GMT1
The website no longer shows it at 'Stage 8' (08- Mold making continues).
Does this mean it's at 9, 10 or 11 (09 - Fitting of mold. 10 - Testing of
mold. 11 - Production begins!)?
Anyone heard when it's due for release?  I've been waiting for two years
When will we get a 1/35 Jumbo?23 May 2010 21:49 GMT7
I am looking forward to the Tamiya BT-7, and I suppose,
the Dragon M-7 Priest, but really, I'd like a good Jumbo
kit. Cookie, have you been putting the bug in DML's ear?
