Could my lovely new Mitutoyo digimatic caliper be affected by proximity

A friend just bought a place in France and discovered a cider press
lurking in a barn. In attempting to dismantle it he got a bit medieval
wivvanammer and snapped a handle off an iron casting. He dropped it off
with me and I faced the two bits, drilled, bored and tapped them, and ...

Craeture from the Black Lagoon in 1/32? ?28 Jun 2010 22:06 GMT6
I do not recall this kit at all.  Was it really in 1/32?  Seems a tad

anyone confirm the scale of this thing?

JLO Mower engine28 Jun 2010 14:23 GMT8
I have an old mower to repair for a friend, it turned out to be a
damaged piston, but the only references to the JLO engine, that I can
find in the internet are from Canada and the USA  and then they were
used in snow mobiles!
International Orange27 Jun 2010 22:18 GMT2
A kit I am building requires Model Master 4682 International Orange
(FS12197). Testors paint is not available locally (I know I can order
online) so I am looking for a Tamiya or Gunze equivalent.
I've looked at conversion charts online but am unsure what colour to

NMF USN F2H-3 Banshees?26 Jun 2010 23:12 GMT4
Does anyone know if the USN flew their F2H-3

Propane Connectors26 Jun 2010 09:44 GMT5
I've had a Sievert propane torch for years running off a 13Kg propane
cylinder. Small enough to move around, hefty enough for real heat.
I've now acquired a propane jetted Flamefast ceramic chip forge and
ideally would like the two pieces of kit to be able to use the same
Live centre25 Jun 2010 17:03 GMT4
Going to buy a live centre for my lathe. Choice is between a fixed
normal 60 degree tip, or a set of changeable ones. I haven't come
across a use for anything other than a 60 degree tip so far, is there
any compelling reason I would want the others?

Does anyone know where I can get a set (M4/5/6/8/10) of indexable
