Turntables - associated structures?31 Aug 2003 22:34 GMT11
I'm just about to install my newly completed Peco turntable and it strikes
me that there's no visible mechanism by which the turntable can be rotated.
That is, there's no levers, capstans or steam valves a little 25mm railway
worker can pull, turn or twist to make it turn.

MRJ Compendium #231 Aug 2003 16:22 GMT5
Anyone got one lying around? I'd like to know what articles it has on
what pages and by which authors - yes, it's for an index of articles.
It's the only MRJ publication I don't own.
Of course, if anyone wants to sell a copy, I'd be glad to buy one.

Am in need of a drive wheel for a Samhangsa, GN 0-8. This is the nongeared
axle. It doesn't look very good as a 2-6-2. Anyone have one? Anyone know
of a link to a place I can get one?
More stuff on the creeps at Union Pacific.31 Aug 2003 05:30 GMT11
Crimeny, they sure are a sensitive bunch.  Already threw me out (apparently)
from the yahoo! Union_Pacific group.
I sent an email to Union Pacific Investor Relations, whining about the $5
per set licensing fee on Kato F3 sets.  They replied that making a profit

If anyone has details of any LGB items for sale, please get in touch.
Scratch building a brass chassis30 Aug 2003 08:32 GMT3
Any thoughts on the best (or optimum) thickness/gauge of brass to use
for a loco chassis, and any recommended online suppliers?
We are not talking scale models here - this is to build a basic chassis
for a Hornby O gauge tinplate body which, at present, doesn't have a

DS10 repowering29 Aug 2003 21:12 GMT1
I have repowered a Hornby class 58 bogie with a DS10 and fitted it to a Lima
calss 60 - all runs fine to start then it gradually gets slower and the
motor starts to overheat.
Anybody any ideas why and what can be done?
