| Ore Cars | 30 Oct 2003 09:31 GMT | 3 |
Another wheel/truck question: Regarding the Walthers and the Roundhouse "ore cars", what size Atlas trucks would they use? I am guessing a 55-ton Atlas truck [150-185000]. If it is the 55-ton truck, is that also a 33" wheel?

| Sealer for Plastic before painting ? | 29 Oct 2003 20:37 GMT | 5 |
I've successfully stripped all factory paint from a plastic (Athearn) boxcar (with Scalecoat stripper). Now I'm wondering if I need to seal the plastic before I paint it (as Scalecoat seems to say), or is using a primer adequate ? -- Thanks -- CH

| MRC Synchro Sound AD750 | 29 Oct 2003 15:54 GMT | 2 |
Has anyone tried the MRC Prodigy Diesel Synchro Sound station model AD750? This appears to be an inexpensive way to get into locomotive sound FX but I'm sure there are drawbacks. Comments?

| 'Variac' power transformer? | 29 Oct 2003 15:50 GMT | 48 |
I have a 120-V AC (input) variable output transformer, commonly known as a 'Variac', which I use for various electronic applications. I've been thinking of using it to power model trains. This would require adding a diode to the transformer output and perhaps a filter capacitor to ...
