Although I've spent a few weeks reading posts I'm pretty new to this newsgroup, so apologies in advance if I've posted off charter. Does anyone know if the Mamod steam engines (http://www.mamodspares.co.uk/mamod_o_gauge_rail_track.htm) which are

| Cleaning old engine shells, hints?? | 06 Oct 2003 00:21 GMT | 5 |
Our club has a number of engines that have been on the layout for years. The accumulated dust and dirt is a distraction if you are looking close (or taking a picture). Are there suggestions for how to clean when you have little idea of paint types, decal solvents, etc that were used ...

| IHC Mogul | 05 Oct 2003 22:14 GMT | 2 |
OK, I give up. According to the review in MR when this 2-6-0 came out, its minimum speed on straight DC was 5smph. I've got 2 of them that I'd never used and neither one will do less than 10smph without cogging. Pulse doesn't help much if at all. I'm running with an MRC Tech ...

I am looking for ideas here. I have an OO garden railway, about 50m long, which starts and ends in the garden shed. I think it would be useful to have a non-electric loco, to run around a few times before I power up. The obvious uses would be cleaning and drying the

I'm looking for ideas of paint mixes to simulate new steel, both plain and galvanized. They would be used for a flatcar load and boxcar roofs, viewed from normal distance. I typically use Modelflex paint, but am open to all suggestions.

With Bachman having made some superb Mk1s, are there any plans to follow this up with Mk2s? Obviously a large number were made and I was never really convinced with the ones that Hornby and Lima made. James
