Often in MR, the layout plans call for specific switches for a given point on the layout. I imagine it's not important to have the specific brand they suggest - but why do they specify an Atlas turnout at one point, then a Roco or Walthers switch somewhere else?

Has anyone got the TRIX BIG BOY? I hear they run fantastic. There is one at the local hobby store here (4013) and the price has been reduced again to $489.00. I think this is a decent price, but that's still a chunk of change. I was just wondering anyone else's opinon on them.

Can anyone help me? The latest issue of Model Rail quotes a web-site for 25 online service sheets, but that diverts me into the main Hornby site and I cannot find these sheets anywhere. Anyone point me in the right direction? (a direction that works, please)
