Looking for a shaft to connect to Electric Motor28 Oct 2003 00:39 GMT12
I am novice in the model building.  I am looking for a 4" long shaft
which I could attach to an electric motor.  The motor's shaft's
diameter is 5/16" and is only 1/2" long.  I want to extend this shaft
to 4".  Without having a lathe and taping screws, it is impossible for
New Hornby Couplers27 Oct 2003 22:26 GMT26
There have been a number of complaints about the flimsy plug-in couplers
Hornby is fitting to locos and rolling stock (specifically the new
Pullmans). I have a Black 5, and wrote to Hornby about the couplers. In
their usual fashion, they sent me several "new and improved"
Questions on Diesel Braking27 Oct 2003 21:37 GMT4
I'm new to Microsoft Train Simulator and had some very
basic quesions on Diesel braking: (Obviously I'm no train
engineer)
1. There is a brake for just the locomotive and for the entire train.

2-6-6-2  / This locomotive will not stay on the track / The two front

"Rodgers" Locomotive27 Oct 2003 20:49 GMT8
To All: Who makes a good quality HO scale Rodgers Locomotive? Are they
DCC equipped? I already own the Tyco/Mantua early version, as that was
all I could afford at the time. I have seen, recently, some newer
models, but I am curious about quality? :-)
SMP 'OO' track27 Oct 2003 17:57 GMT2
This months Model Rail features a layour combining SMP 'OO' bullhead track
with Peco Code 75 pointwork.  Anyone out there able to confirm this works
and with what rail joiners.
Also I recall some mention here before of a flexible track which couldn't be
TCA "e-Train" Electronic Magazine27 Oct 2003 05:06 GMT2
The Train Collectors Association (TCA) focuses  on O" & "027" trains but
includes all gauges. Take a look at their "on line" effort and I think you will
be impressed:

Newbie Question27 Oct 2003 01:33 GMT7
I just picked up my father's old Tyco set from his basement where it
has been sitting for probably at least 15-20 years to setup for my two
small boys.  I have done everything including running making sure the
track is clean and free of debris.  The problem that I am having is
Infamy!27 Oct 2003 00:42 GMT3
I went to the Beckenham show yesterday, and was chatting to the chap on
the OO gauge association stand, and in the course of the conversation I
happened to let slip that I've got this big garden railway. The next
question was "You're not John Sullivan, by any chance?"
Trix [HO Scale] UP Caboose26 Oct 2003 23:39 GMT1
Hey Folks,
Can I be sure that this Trix caboose will roll on Atlas Code 83 track
and through Walthers Code 83 switches w/o issue?
I ask because I had all types of hassles when the Fleischmann cars
Kato NW2 Switcher26 Oct 2003 22:12 GMT4
Help needed - thanks in advance.
1) How do I remove the cover on the coupler box to replace the horn hook
with a Kadee coupler?
Is it a simple pop it off scenario or is it actually glued in place?
FA: Alaska Streamliner 4-Pack (6-29041)26 Oct 2003 21:26 GMT2
These all-new passenger cars from Lionel offer the best detail and
quality that money can buy. Conveniently sized, they are just as
comfortable on smaller layouts as they are larger ones. You will be
amazed at the attention to detail given to these cars. Look inside at
Question on RR Lanterns26 Oct 2003 18:52 GMT1
I am planning on going to an auction. Can anyone tell me what the following
abreviations mean as they relate to railroad lanterns:
RUG and CCG, I think it has something to do with the globes.

Depotronics 1A Controller26 Oct 2003 17:11 GMT2
I have several of these available. I bought too many. They are used to control
Tortise switch machines and have a non derailing feature. They also have built
in diodes to convert AC to DC for powering the machines.
Go to the Depotronics web site for further information.
