We have a 2003 Hornby Flying Scotsman. When we put it on the track and power up, it moves sometimes no distance, sometimes up to six inches, then the controller shuts down. That sounds to me like a short but I can't see any evidence of where

| Monogram Snap-tite | 20 Oct 2003 15:32 GMT | 4 |
I've never actually seen one of these, but they're available on e-bay. If one cleans up the parts and perhaps does a little weathering, are the Hudson and Big Boy capable of looking good?

| Athearn vs. Lifelike axle gears? | 20 Oct 2003 15:13 GMT | 7 |
I want to replace the 4 axle gears in my Proto 2000 BL-2 because they cracked. Lifelike will send me new ones if I send them the old ones. But has the quality of Lifelike's gears improved? Or should I spend out of pocket for Athearn? Are Athearn gears any better? Now they

Hi, I have a question about my Badger 180-11 air compressor, used with a vl3 Paasche. I would like to get a water trap/filter, as recommended by the airbrush company, but most of the traps I've seen are listed as having a 1/4 in/out pipe thread. I measured the nozzle/nipple on the

| Magpie Warning | 20 Oct 2003 12:35 GMT | 16 |
No, not those hopeless footy players... the feathered kind! When checking out all the new coloured grain hoppers etc in Junee yard, it would be a good idea to wear a hat, as the resident magpie is a bit snappy at the moment, and very persistent.

Everyone, I've put together a decent number of Walthers plastic building kits, and in Model Railroader I see advertisements for "high quality" kits that can cost literally hundreds of dollars each.
