| Big Wheels in 4mm? | 19 Dec 2003 22:49 GMT | 12 |
Does anyone manufacture 36mm driving wheels in 4mm scale, ie, 9 foot diameter actual size? Ideally with no crank and 26 spokes, but I'll be glad of anything I can work with. Cheers,

| Moaning about new models. | 19 Dec 2003 19:31 GMT | 136 |
When oh when will you lot stop whining about so called errors in new models of locomotives. The shortcomings various people have been pointing out are due to compromises in the manufacturing processes employed in the development of these locomotives, which otherwise would make them

One retailer quoting: Heljan to produce the class 67 as an addition to models already stated. As Heljan usually keep plans/ideas reasonably close to their chest, this appears to be a turn-around should there be any substance in the retailer

| 7mm scale building? | 19 Dec 2003 17:00 GMT | 14 |
Any one one got any suggestions for suppliers/manufacturers of 7mm scale buildings? I have checked out my local shops and it appears aside from a very small selection of card structures there is little to no choice! They do not need to be scale perfect as they are for 5yr old's ...

| The P2K 2-8-4/DCC saga gets worse | 19 Dec 2003 16:37 GMT | 1 |
OK, make that 3 Berks we have tried now that run like ruptured ducks on DCC. On the last one, the orange and red wires were shorted below the socket in the tender. That's why it ran fine on DC, but dead shorted on DCC. So we fixed that, and put a decoder in it. Instant and severe ...

| Hogwarts express | 19 Dec 2003 15:30 GMT | 3 |
Well, I ran this loco and its 3 coaches round the 18" circle under the Christmas tree. The coaches just barely make it - almost touch at the inside corners. The loco has no trouble at all, and runs very smoothly indeed. Now, what exactly is wrong with this loco? Apart from the 16 ...

| Manual turnout controls... I love them ! | 19 Dec 2003 06:40 GMT | 24 |
I have been experimenting with the DPDT slide switch method of turnout control. After a few hours of tinkering I decided the I needed a mounting bracket that was adjustable. What I came up with was a simple bracket made from 1/16" aluminum angle.

| [HO] Andrews freight car trucks | 19 Dec 2003 04:32 GMT | 4 |
I need a set of Andrews freight car trucks for a project I'm working on. The basic car body is an MDC gondola, so it's not worth using overly-expensive trucks on the project, but I see that there are several in the $3 price range - Accurail, Eastern Car Works, Tichy

| EMD E-unit Blomberg Trucks | 19 Dec 2003 04:28 GMT | 4 |
I completed a project to mount an X-10 video camera in an HO dummy diesel - worked out to be easier than I expected. I used an old Rivarossi E-8 shell on a home made chassis (so I could deepen the fuel tank area to accommodate the transmitter circuit board, and to keep the antenna ...

| Ground signals? | 19 Dec 2003 02:00 GMT | 8 |
How would signalling be done for leaving an engine shed/depot and getting onto the main lines? From my shed area there is a single track connecting to one of four main loops. Would it be semaphore or ground signals? Where generally are ground signals used.

| 1/04 MR - engine identification assistance | 18 Dec 2003 22:19 GMT | 3 |
In the 1/04 Model Railroader on p. 92, can someone please tell me which manufacturer made the Southern Pacific #4287 Cab Forward in the picture. I am guessing it's a Rivarossi model, but perhaps it's a brass model I am not familiar with.
