HO versus OO14 Dec 2003 04:36 GMT95
Hello John Turner and other doubters out there.
It may be true that the majority in the UK want 00 but I wonder how
many would do so if HO were a viable alternative?
Returning to the hobby after a spell with HO in North America I
MTH - Good Quality & Value?13 Dec 2003 23:45 GMT5
I am considering purchasing an MTH starter set and want to know if they are
of good quality, reliability and value. I was considering Lionel but these
seem to be more expensive than MTH. In addition, I really like the MTH
snap-together track with built-in roadbed.

What's the best way to insulate the roof, whilst keeping to whatever
building regulations may apply?

Atlas (Roco) S-2 vs. Shinohara code 83 turnouts13 Dec 2003 09:29 GMT2
I am having a problem with the older Roco built S-2s. They stall on
the Shinohara code 83 turnouts where all other engines including Roco
built FP-7A units work fine. The pick up system looks ok but it seems
if you wiggle the truck slightly the unit moves again. I am wondering
Grades for Shays13 Dec 2003 07:49 GMT7
Since I live in logging country I thought it would be nice to have a
HOn3 logging RR in the mix.  It could be a mining RR as well.   I was
planning on using a Shay.  What was the maximum grade they could
handle?

Folks,
I am at a loss trying to comprehend how certain, negative threads can
spiral into such negative outputs. It doesn't make sense. I don't get
it. Recently, we endured a poor display of civility regarding the
