Rail King Proto-sound2.0 reset procedure - Day Light Model30 Dec 2003 23:20 GMT5
I have a Rail King 4-8-4 Daylight which I bring out every Christmas although
this year I am having trouble with it.  I have learned the battery has worn
down and so I replaced it.  The problem I'm having now is the remote control
no longer works and the train will no longer run as a ...

set you all straight on about 12-23-03, the threads I have taken over
or created have contributed over 300 post to this group.  Thanks I

DCC and Route Setting30 Dec 2003 22:12 GMT1
Can the Lenz command stations be used for route setting *without* the use of
a computer?
I see there is a Roco product (number 10772) which seems to be able to set
32 routes - but given the price of the Lenz command stations, I would have
Iain Rice books30 Dec 2003 20:29 GMT6
I can currently afford either "Designs for urban layouts" or Mainlines
in modest spaces".
What are the experiences of others on these titles? I assume
"Designs..." covers yards etc as well as stations, using more of those

Questions on Overton Coaches/Combines30 Dec 2003 14:27 GMT4
I made an impulse purchase today.  I've always wanted passenger cars, but I
only have room for a 4x8 HO layout, so I've not purchased them because I didn't
think they'd look right on the curves.  My LHS had some Roundhouse 34' Overton
Coaches in stock, so I picked up a couple.  I'm ...
Computer control...30 Dec 2003 10:19 GMT11
Is there anybody around this group that has ever dabbled in H.O. train set
up and computer/MCU? I would like to incorporate some automation into a
track layout for my son, and only seem to find some REALLY expensive
equipment that is available commercially, and it really doesn't fit ...

get behind UP or get a new hobby30 Dec 2003 02:01 GMT56
I am just about fed up with all the bitching about the UPs 4% logo
fee.  Good gosh people, if you cannot afford another 40 cents for a
$10 car or $4 on a $100 locomotive you need to change something.
Drive something less than a SUV which ain't cheap.  That would be a

NCE or Digitrax29 Dec 2003 22:45 GMT121
NCE or Digitrax
Please, by no means do I wish to generate a good vs bad debate. They're
both great choices. We have narrowed down our choice to one or the other
based on access to a local purchase [and their ensuing support].
brass track29 Dec 2003 21:46 GMT5
I recently pulled my old HO equipement out from my parent's attic in hopes of
setting something up for my kids. I noticed that brass track is no longer being
sold, and that the new track comes in different guages. M question is wether it
is worth keeping my old brass track or should ...
