What is the UK name for this stuff (as in masonite spline roadbed)? Is it

I bought an older 844 about  1 yr ago and the motor was bad so I put in a new
motor from radio Shack.
Now it runs, but the running is erratic.
it slows down a good distance from the power supplied tracks and speeds up 2x

Looking for a source of red/green bi-color LEDs with good
mixing of the two colors (diffused lens) when running both.
3 lead preferred, 2 lead can be used if needed. I think I've tried
every one in the digikey and mouser catalogs without success.

I suffered some paint delivery issues with the Badger.
Any tried & true suggestions to remove Floquil from a (N) LifeLike body? It was primed
before cover coat was applied.

I've been 'out of the circuit' (excuse the pun) for quite some time, and
when i was active, i was very amateur!!!  Could someone be kind enough to
explain the following two terms i've come across, and enlighten me to
anything else i should know, regarding commonplace methods etc ...

 I recently rediscovered a Marx streamline train
set I had been given in the early fifties.  I've
cleaned up the engine, cars, and track.  The
transformer seems to be problem tho, it hums but

When you want to buy a new model how do you choose?
If you want a 'OO' gauge RTR Cl.73 then it's easy but what about a
Cl.47 say?
Do you go to your local shop and try different ones? Do you trust
